you asked a question and i responded with a guess.

"guess" my ass. :|

who asked you moron?

btw, ya, i used the word "guess". in my post your referring to, does it anywhere specifically state it is a fact?

in my post where i say guess, I specifically state that my opinions were based on studies i'd seen years ago.

sheesh, are you people really that insecure about what you believe that you overreact to other peoples opinions.

You stated it as fact. You might not have meant to but you did. And yes, I am defensive about it because our family raises cattle and we dont need people like you spreading "opinions" as fact.
:disgust:

and this is my problem HOW?? just because your family kills cows for a living i have to watch my p's and q's?? BS. it's my opinion, i stated it as such.

so, unless everything i post is labeled "it's my opinion" everyone is going to assume it's being stated as fact??

so who's making the assumptions now? :disgust:

Oh quit the bullsh!t. You stated unsubstantiated rumour as fact. You did NOT present it as opinion or a guess. Learn what the term "matter of fact" means, and you'll understand that is how your statement was presented.

I politely called you on this, and you accused me of being "uncivil." Now look who's name calling.

Hypocritical much?

Actually, yes. If you make an unqualified statement, it is taken as a factual statement. If you want it taken as a guess or opinion, you must present it as such with a qualification of "I would guess..." or "in my opinion...".

Better yet, why not just say the truth: "I don't know."

better yet, why not state what i believe and let it stay as that.

Are cattle given steroids?? yes.

Do those steroids affect us?? that is harder to prove conclusively. research shows both and it really depends on who the researcher is. How many years did we go with tobacco companies pulling research after research out of their @ss proving there is NO connection between smoking and cancer.

the fact that it is difficult to prove does not mean i cannot chose to believe it.

let's see, BIG money wants to prove these steroids in meat doesn't affect us, small money (peta for example) wants to prove that it does. who's going to have more evidence to support them?? hmmm. does it make it true?? tobacco industry. it takes longer for small money to prove their point, always has always will. and don't even try and tell me the government gives a sh!t. i don't expect government to be the watchdog on this because i know where the interest of the government lies, it lies in maintaining the economy even if it means that people get hurt. has happened before will happen again.

OK, MY OPINION IS: More and more young people are hitting puberty sooner. we see 300 lb high school football players. kids are w/o question bigger and stronger in hs than they were when i grew up.

Hence, my CONCLUSION IS, there is something in the food or water that wasn't there 60 to 100 yrs ago.

If you're going to use an example, find a better one. NOBODY ever believed the tobacco companies claims that nicotine wasn't addictive and tobacco use did not increase chances for disease. Not when the rest of the medical community found conclusive links in the 50s... and the evidence only grew from there.

As for the rest of your post, it's assumptions based upon assumptions. That you "believe" it rather than suspect it only shows your inability to remain the least bit objective on the matter.

Coincedence?

1 - Fiance's 10 y/o sister gets her first period. Isn't this kinda early?
2 - Fiance's 16 y/o sister (who's married to some 19 y/o loser w/ no job) is pregnant.
3 - My fiance herself might be pregnant.

Her sister is 16 and she's MARRIED?! How did that happen?

Easy solution - cite a source next time! Obviously you must have one, or everything you've said is total B.S. Then we can decide for ourselves if we can believe what PETA or whoever else says, or just ignore you.

Great, so now the household (well, my fiance and I live together but we spend quite some time at her mom's house) is expecting two babies both at the same time!!!! What's messed up is her mom and other sister says her 16 y/o sis will most likely suffer greatly since she's basically dropped out of school and her husband sits at home all day and play video games. Yea he doesnt work.

No, my sister had her period when she was 8. She's also pregnant at 17, now.

I heard about the steroid (hormones) thing in cattle as well and its the milk that may be affecting people...
