...they do.

Case in point:

I lost my job in September.
I get drug along by one company - three interviews, followed by a "Oh, no - you weren't one of our candidates" - in October.
Still no job in November.
I think things are picking up in December - I got calls for 3 interviews. Then, Friday, I found out that my unemployment is up at the end of the year.
This morning, I went on my third interview of the last week. Then, this afternoon, I got in a wreck that I 'm sure has totalled my car.

In summation:
No job + no unemployment check + no savings + now, no car.

Worst. Christmas. Ever.

Screw it! You kids today have no ingenuity. You don't need no stinkin' job! You don't need no stinkin' car. Get yourself a sugar mama and live large, boy, live large!

Good luck man.

Hopefully the New Year will bring some good. 2002 was tough for a lot of people. It was the worst year for me in my life.

Sh*t sorry to hear it. But remember also that just when you think things can't get any worse - they get better. Oftentimes when things are going very poorly they can turn on a dime. With all those interviews I'm sure something will come along for you.

Your fuzzy...and I'm free...hmm...

I used to be in a similar situation. One day, (after whacking off..all the great ideas occur after that time, Edison did this before inventing great things) I decided to motivate myself into working. saving some money, and generally had a brighter outlook on life.

Been there, done that. Still paying off the credit cards. :)

And hey, count yourself fortunate. Last year I was in the same position except that I was also making a mortgage payment on a house that I lived in by myself and was having trouble selling, plus I was paying child support.

It could be worse.

5 years ago around this time, all in a matter of two weeks, I:

Lost my grandfather
Lost my full-time job
Had my fiancee of 1 1/2 years leave me
Had to sell my PC and just about everything of value to keep my car and apartment

It can ALWAYS be worse.

true. i am being a little selfish, i guess - and that's not sarcasm, either.

my best friend's grandfather died right before thanksgiving, and a new friend's father died last week. i'm starting to think that maybe it's all my fault.

Hang in there Fuzzy, you are not alone in this misery. While not totaled, Donna's car is now costing us $2,000 for a new Head and rebuild and it only had 68,000 miles on a 2000 Neon. I'm still not working either, 2003 has to be better.

You can't start thinking like that.

We all have runs of bad luck, but hey, these things happen, such is life!

Think of it as the beginning of the next era of your life, these experiences will make you think, and will ultimately make you stronger, and better. It may not seem like it now, but this chain of events will work out for you OK in the end :)

As long as you don't lose the use of your right/left hand, you are in good shape ;)

I'm sorry to hear that...
Be strong, and reasonable though. You're gonna have to change your life drastically from an economic standpoint. Just figure out what you need to adjust to bounce back. All that sounds boring, but you don't want to go into debt, or not get a new car which will prevent you from getting the job you're looking for. I'm sure this seems devastating to you, but just remember its temporary, let your friends and family help you too.
Hope you feel more like yourself soon...
:)

This has been the worst year of my life, but just as you need to do ... I'm learning to keep my chin up, and keep pushing forward. You'll live to see brighter days! :)
