I was a senior in college when it first came out, saw it in the theater with some of my buddies. We loved it. Such a man movie. It was so influential at the time that one of the guys that I saw the movie with joined the Navy to become a SEAL. Crazy.

WAY over the top and mega-cheese, but entertaining nonetheless.

I have never watched this. There again I JUST watched all of the Alien Movies.
I will check it out based on your recomendations.... PRAY you are right SIR!! :)

dont tell me you've never seen Terminator 2 either.

I haven't

I liked the Rock from what I remember. Just a good old action flick and Cage didn't completely butcher it with his overacting. Been years since I last saw it though.

That's what I thought about it. Didn't really enjoy the movie other than a passable popcorn flick. The plot was retarded.

With me it was a semester of law school, "Cliffhanger" and some unnamed softpron station. I still like watching Cliffhanger - Stallone FTW!

I just rented the Blu-Ray, it was an amazing transfer. and the score, my god, is it one of the most amazing scores ever. Instantly recognizable...

So much awesomeness in the movie.

I do a decent Sean Connery impersonation. The number one request people have of me? Well, to sing "I Will Survive" as Connery, actually. But a close second is lines from this movie. "Only losers whine about their best... winners go home and fuck the prom queen," is the obvious crowd favorite, but "this is not combat, it's an act of lunacy, General Sir... Personally, I think you're a fucking idiot," is a personal fave.

My favorite exchange in that movie:

Goodspeed: You've been around a lot of corpses. Is that normal?
Mason: What, the feet thing?
Goodspeed: Yeah, the feet thing.
Mason: Yeah, it happens.
Goodspeed: Well I'm having a hard time concentrating. Can you do something about it?
Mason: Like what, kill him again?

Just about anything with Ed Harris being the reflective hard-ass wins my vote for awesomeness. He outclasses every other actor in that movie, and I get chills at the end every time.
