Just watched Spirited Away

Not sure how I missed this one, but it was a truly great film. These animated movies are better than real movies in some ways. Kind of gave me that "good" feeling like The Iron Giant did, although it's no where near the same concept.

If you haven't watched this, or your kids haven't, go and see it!!!

Anyone know any other good anime movies?

i agree with both above replies. you are missing out if you do not watch the other miyazaki movies. totoro is one of my faves, as is princess mononoke and howl's moving castle.

Are you looking for the feel-good wow look at that animation type movie, or something more adult with a nice, meaty story?

Both are fine, I'm open to anything.

For the adult story, see Grave of the Fireflies.

One of the saddest films I've ever seen.

What an annoyingly whiney nerve-wracking little baby that moronic girl's voice actor was. Too many adjectives?

Miyazaki films are very unique, and pretty unlike any other typical anime'. Matter of fact, I consider some older american animation to be more like Miyazaki than most other anime'. Shame some American kids don't have the attention spans for them because they are light-years beyond typical saturday afternoon animation.

I actually liked Howl's Moving Castle more than 'Spirited' because it was a bit more grown up, but I regared both among the best animated films *ever*.

Totoro is amazing as well, but geared towards an even younger crowd.

1. My Neighbor Totoro (IMHO is Hayao Miyazaki best creation)
2. Spirited Away
3. Princess Mononoke
4. Kiki's Delivery Service
5. Nausicaa
6. Laputa: Castle in the Sky

Like all of those Mayazuki movies it starts off brilliantly, then teeters into a colossal train wreck through the final Act and ends on huge fail. I hate how he never fails to screw up the final bits of all of his flicks 🙁

You're just sad that it's over. 😛
