I must say, it was a bit of a letdown. It started off well, but then by the end it was just so inaccurate it seemed silly. firstly, was the elecroconvulsive therapy scene just thrown in to be extra "shocking"? they don't do ECT on people like that woman, it's reserved for severely depressed patients who don't respond to regular antidepressant drugs. they don't just pull random crazy people off the streets and shock their brains out hoping they'll start to make some sense... they just wanted to use a throw back to the Cuckoo's Nest days...
second, why the hell would a hospital send away a guy with a severe infection without treatment? yeah right. and how the hell did they manage to land themselves in prison without a trial? i realize it was in the south, but damn, i've never heard of anything like that. in the end, it was just too ridiculous to be taken seriously. yeah, i get it, addiction sucks, but at least it could have been more accurate and shown more what it's REALLY like. god knows its bad enough without throwing in a bunch of made up "terrifying" BS.
