Just watched Oh Brother Where Art Thou...

<< Yeah its weird how its loosly based on homers the odyessy(sorry for the bad sp). >>

hehe...How is that weird? It was completely intentional. 🙂

It was a great film, though. I'd highly recommend anything by the Coen Brothers.

John Goodman as the Cyclops was toooooo good! 🙂

Dmn good movie....dmn good!

Very very good film, as most Coen Bro films are...
Man of Constant Sorrow is the most addictive song ever... after I saw the movie I spent that evening looking for it online

I actually went out and bought the whole CD. *hears collective gasp from AT community*

Dan Tyminski sure deserved the Grammy (and he received the honor from the BMAs, too!)

"Care for some gopher, Everett?"
"Do NOT...seek...the treasure!"
"I'm bonafide!"
"We're in a tight spot!"
"Mah hair!"
"Not the livestock, George!"

I bought the Soundtrack, but have not yet seen the movie.
Is it worth buying the DVD?
Would you buy the DVD?

It gets better for me. I keep picking up a little more and more each time. I really wish I remembered more from The Odyssey but freshman year high school was toooo long ago 🙂

Oh, and there are other references in the film, too, unrelated to the Odyssey. Tommy Johnson...well...that one's pretty obvious. And then there's Gillian Welch in the record store which was a reference to when The Beatles were just starting to be recognized in Europe (they were mostly playing in Germany at the time).

Man, what a briliant movie. I've seen it several times, tho my favorite was at the historic Fox Theatre here in Atlanta. They do this summer film festival thing where they have live entertainment prior to the show. Very old-timey and totally appropriate for a screening of O Brother.

Fausto

I adore that movie

One of my favorites of all time

If someone hasn't seen it GO SEE IT!

So what if someone dislikes country music its a top notch movie

Careful now...country music, nowadays, is NOTHING like was used on the soundtrack and in the movie. What you heard there was some "bonafide" music! 😀

Heck, most "country" stations didn't even play one song off the soundtrack.

"country music, nowadays, is NOTHING like was used on the soundtrack and in the movie. "

True that, the music on the soundtrack was appalachian music. Not the same as the dixie chicks or shania twain. 😉

Saw it for the first time at christmas, what a great movie, was laughing like crazy.
Poor cows though, that evil man shot them. 🙁 😛

Hilarious! I thought the 3 chicks doing laundry was kinda dumb/out of place, but the rest of the movie was excellent.
