Hated the movie but the lesbian scene is undeniably awesome. If memory serves Mulholland Drive was initially created as a pilot for a TV show, then later finished as a feature, which I think contributes to how cryptic it is - I've heard it described as a Möbius strip. I disliked the lack of a clear narrative and found it pointlessly confusing.
