Just watched Jenny Jones, how do you guys feel about overly buffed up women?

I personally I don't want my girl to be buffed... but I don't want to be a part of the double standard trend where men abhor women who are buffed and women love men who are buffed.

I saw the show and it shocked me as to the amount of training these women do. I mean they put in a lot of hard work and dedication, but they are complaining that they aren't able to get any men because the men are "intimidated" by them.

I think they should make a decision in their life... which is more important to them, working out or a relationship... because for some reason the guys they like don't return the favor...

Don't get me wrong, I feel as if weight training is essential to an active lifestyle, but not to the extent where you "Look" like your on steroids

Personally, I would never go out w/ a buffed lady... too freaky... I'd get squashed :(

What are your views on it?

I agree with that... I don't think women should be buffed... leave that to the men... women should just be slender and in shape =)

But by saying that I basically contradicted myself by saying before that I didn't want to be a part of the double standard trend...

And as much as I hate it, I honestly believe that women shouldn't be buffed... even though I don't want to admit I believe it... I guess I'll just have to :)

So yeah, I agree with what you said aUt0eXebat - even though I hate to admit it :)

muscular women are fine.. (at least for me) unless they start loooking anything close to a man.. The really buffed up ones always look like men.

But many muscular females look good

Good shape, yes. Muscular, no.

Women are supposed to be soft & have curves, I don't want someone with more muscle than me.

I think "overly buff" women are not very attracting at all. They just over do themselves. Now what is the need to be "overly buff" anyways? All you need to be is athletic, but not the point where you have bulging muscles. That is just rediculous. Women aren't supposed to have bulging muscles, its not normal. These women are just strange. That's my opinion. If I offended anyone, I am deeply sorry.

I've known some women like that. The reason they couldn't get men had
little to do with intimidation and everything to do with how much of
thier time was spent in the gym. The only people these women that I knew
could date were body builders willing to spend the same amount of time
in they gym.

Big buffed women are nasty. They could rip things off if you know what I mean.

desertdweller - They can only spend so much time in the gym... I'm figuring that they might spend around 5 hours (max?) and besides that, I'm sure they make an attempt to go out to bars/clubs in order to look for men.

One guy on the show asked why they didn't ask the men out themselves... and they said that they do, and one buffed chick said, "When I see a guy I like, w/ nice hair and everything and a nice bod - he usually has a boyfriend" .. :D

Nonethess.. yeah, they have plenty of time to get w/ a man... maintaining a relationship might be another matter... but I'm sure they can put forth the time to initially get a man - workout hours aren't hindering them from that (not if they want it that badly).

Actually those that I knew like that spent more than 5 hours a week
at the gym. 5 hours a week at the gym isn't that much time.
I don't have a specific amount of time that they did spend there, but
I'd say it was closer to double that.

Also, I stopped hangin around with them because thats all they would
talk about, body fat percentage, weight gainers, new excersizes etc..
It was a compulsion for them. Without the gym, they wouldn't know
what to do with thier time.

Don't get me wrong, to each thier own, but those women that I knew
didn't have time for a relationship that was outside the gym.

P.S. 5 hours a week at the gym is nothing, I put in 5 hours a week easy.

DesertDweller - I meant 5 hours a day , I spend around 10 hours a week at the gym, and I'm nowhere near as buff as these gals... I'd say about 35 hours a week is appropriate for them (if not more)

Buffed-up women don't bother me. People who spend an hour of thier lives watching Jenny Jones scare the hell out of me, though.

ok, I misunderstood you, but lets look at it this way; they work 40 hours
a week (assuming they have a regular job to do) and then spend another
35 hours a week on thier own time at the gym, how much time is left over
for a relationship?

If the girl is "buffer" than me, I don't wanna go out with her. I also like women to be shorter than me (i'm about 6'1"). I guess I just have a neeed for power.

I like them like that, always have, always will.

GoldenGuppy even a couple hours a day in the gym after working full time pretty much eliminates free time. They usually do a dual schedule if they are really into it, 1.5-2 hours in the morning and 1-1.5 in the evening. Even just semi serious will easily spend an 1.5-2 hours a just on a single workout a day. The problem is that doing that and working full time just wipes you out. :-( Granted I am speaking from the ripe ol' age of 33 lol, in my early 20's that kind of schedule was much more doable...... sigh

I dated a male bodybuilder that spent at least 4 hours a day training or doing training-related activities. He also carried a scale with us wherever we would go and would weigh ANYTHING he ate (evein in a restaurant). The rest of the time, he posed and repreated, "my friends tell me I have a v-shaped back" over and over, or "do I looked pumped"??
