Sound is amazing during that scene. Commentary says they used what they recorded the day of filming.

Those cops were terrible, but they managed to kill 2 and wound 1.

Great film. One of my all time favorites. I remember many years ago there was some kind of shootout with police in Cali & when I saw the news footage all I could think of was the final shootout in the movie.

BTW, I love the background music when they are robbing their final bank.
