Firefly was an excellent series. To bad Fox had decided to kill it before it was even born. They seem to like to do that with any sci-fi type show. 1st, was Alien Nation. Great show. Then Space... Above and Beyond. Then Firefly. I bet some execs where kicking themselves in the teeth when they saw the Firefly box set sitting on the Amazon top sellers list for a long time.

Look out! It's the Chiggs!

Man, I used to love that show. Damn you, Fox!!! /shakes fists

I hope mr whedon brings it back some day. maybe not with the same name characters or setting, but just the feel of each episode was great. What is he working on nowadays anyway?

Writer's strike.

I believe he's also working on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer "Season 8" comic.

edit: Also another show for Fox called Dollhouse as soon as the writer's strike is over.

I love how the characters' personalities bounce off each other. Overall a very well written series especially the part where they're paying off the dude to go back to his boss and he says no and they just kick him into the turbine. LOL

If you're a fan of the series, then you'll like Serenity. It is more of a continuation of the series revolving around River's 'issues'.

I never saw the series but i did buy the movie with all the recommendations. I didnt like it, was pretty boring and I mean give me a break. To tell the truth it really grabbed me in the beginning and sounded really interesting. I like dystopia stories but then it just got bad imo.

*spoiler*

zombies in space? umm ok ya, lame.

They were not zombies. They were savages. Hyper-motivated people with all of their aggressions turned up to 11.
didnt I see this when it was called 28 days later?

Not too dissimilar in concept. Big differences, the virus in 28 Days Later was intentionally created to have the aggression affect and was highly communicable thus lending to the zombielike storyline. Also 28 Days Later baddies couldn't perform even simple tasks, they could only attack, attack, attack. Reavers in Firefly were still capable of continuing existance and operating technology, they were just highly violent. More like sociopaths than zombies.
I only half watched the movie because I started getting bored of that little girl with the visions to tell the truth. So was the goal that they were supposed to be some master race but it got all messed up and now they are kicking ass or wut

Instead of making everyone here compensate for your ignorance, how about you go watch the full movie then come back and comment. Otherwise your criticism is utterly worthless.

i think the point he was trying to make is that your bashing the movie and making assumptions when you haven't even watched the whoel thing. watch it then make comments about it.

I disagree. I loved the series, hated the movie. Typical overblown Hollywood bs. The strength of the series was its subtlety, which was absent from the movie. Then there was...oh, no spoilers.

Well, I had different expectations because you're not going to get the same kind of experience from a movie that you get from a TV show. You don't get a whole season to develop characters, plot, etc. You have to cram it all in to 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours.

Kind of like adjusting your expectations for books that are made into movies.
