I think that's a pretty good description. I preferred Planet Terror for exactly that reason: it was exactly the sort of mindless, poorly-shot, gory action movie that it purported to be. Bullet Proof had some good scenes, but all in all it was "meh". Zoe Bell was cool though.

what pisses me off is they split grindhouse up to double dip.
lengthened both films which frankly need to be short, and screwed us over on the fake trailers.
so yea all in all, pretty lousy. both films on dvd were too long.

I absolutely loved Planet Terror. I enjoyed every second of its campiness and how over-the-top it was. It kept you on the edge of your seat. Death Proof, which was slower, and not near as good, should have been first.

Ok so I just saw Death Proof last night.

I LOVED it. I can understand how some might not like it, but there were a few scenes that I thought were just brilliant.

Watching Kurt Russel get shot then act like a sissy was possibly one of the most rewarding scenes I have ever witnessed in a movie. I wanted laugh and cry at the same time, loved it. And I thought the ending was SO fucking cool how they finally catch him, kick the shit out of him, then *cheer!* THE END. Awesome.

Kurt Russel was awesome in it. Everyone else sucked assballs.

But Planet Terror was pretty much epic for every single minute of it.

I liked planet terror better because it did exactly what it was meant to do. It really had that classic old school feel.

death proof was decent, but I only liked the first part. The second part, aside from kurt russell screaming after getting shot(which was hilarious), was pretty boring, and the 3 girls, minus the cheerleader, were really fucking annoying.
