Ok, what the fuck? Seriously, what the fuck did i just watch? Normally, a shitty movie I would turn off. Just when this movie was about to be turned off due to shittisness, it got good. Then after 5 minutes went back to shittisness. At the end of the movie it was really good, then it just fucking ends?

What the fuck? Does anyone want to shed some light on this movie for me?

It was a movie that was done for the sole purpose of the stunt that was involved.

The thing about Death Proof is... it's a shitty movie. It has a total of 5 minutes of cool scenes, but that's not nearly enough to make it a good movie.

My general dislike of anything Tarentino has ever produced aside, it's just a bad movie.

I found it entertaining. More so than than Planet Terror (or is it Terror Planet?).

I was also disappointed with it. 10-15 minutes from various scenes were great. The rest was really bad.

I also don't get how a guy who willingly has a head-on collision at very high speed turns into such a wuss when he gets shot in the arm. I get that the bully had the tables turned on him and all, but I don't think I can buy into him becoming a cry-baby.

I found it absolutely hilarious. The dialogue and the action made it very comedic.

I just watched this too.

Utter garbage until the second part, particularly the ending.

Zoe Bell saved this movie, because w/o her & the ending, it was pure crap.

So awesome. SO AWESOME. Seen it twice in the theaters and I have the DVDs (Rodriguez's half too).

You're questioning the plot and the character development of the movie, neither of which Tarantino seems to devote much interest in. One thing can be said for him, though; he knows his audience and he knows what he likes, so I can't fault him for being a horrible director/script-writer, but odds on I won't like anything he has or ever will produce. Diff'rin strokes fer diff'rin folks, and all that.

Were you high when you watched it? I can't really stand anything from QT.

I don't know why you're so confused by the movie or it's ending...it's not that confusing. There's no "wtf" factor in the whole movie.

I too liked Death Proof a lot better than planet terror.

I guess you missed the fact that the second clip took place BEFORE the first clip. If you watch, you can see where he gets the huge scar on his face that is present in the first clip.

We can all agree the fake previews at intermission between the two movies were the best part. I mean who wasn't laughing their ass off during the Machete preview?

You don't have to dislike Tarantino to dislike Death Proof. I own and love Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, and Reservoir Dogs.
I thought Death Proof was interesting at times, but overall I thought it was pretty boring. I also thought there was way too much time spent on the characters in the first half, just to kill them all off.

I coulda swore the second part of death proof said 14 months LATER, but perhaps it said before? I was confused about that the whole movie.

It did say 14 months later. There's no reason to believe that the order of the movie was reversed. The scar is still there 14 months later it's just not as obvious.

I loved Deathproof. However, I didn't expect hardly anyone to like it. Deathproof is an underground cult film like the ones made in the 70s and 80s that you can only get over the internet or some no name video rental store whose owner likes that kind of stuff. The point is these sort of movies are an acquired taste that takes a certain kind of person to appreciate and not many do.

I enjoyed both movies for what they were. I saw both in the theater.

What a piece-of-shit, idiotic, mind-numbingly excruciating movie. Pulp Fiction is my all-time favorite movie. I loved Reservior Dogs and True Romance. I like the Kill Bill movies. Memorable dialogue, interesting characters and crazy shit done right.

Here? You can skip the first 30 minutes of the movie and you won't miss anything. You can skip another 30 minutes after the first clip and you won't miss anything. Scene after scene of boring, idiotic dialogue and now, a few hours later, I can't remember one good exchange of words. I've always liked how Tarantino could make mundane, 'normal conversations' so interesting and arresting. This movie was utter garbage. Seriously, you need a Samuel Jackson or a Christopher Walken to make super-long dialogue-heavy scenes work. I can't stress enough how much I hated every fucking second of this movie and forced myself to watch it, hoping it would get better.

If I had seen this in theaters, I'd have walked out. No way is my bullshit tolerance level so high that I can sit through this wreck in a movie theater. Drugs will not make this movie any more amusing.

It was supposed to be a "shitty", and "piece-of-shit, idiotic, mind-numbingly excruciating" type of B movie.
You guys got the point of the movie.

Think of it the other way. If you see a movie that was supposed to be really good and it turns out to be good.
You wouldn't complain how that movie sucked because it wasn't a "piece-of-shit, idiotic, mind-numbingly excruciating" movie that you expected, would you?

Anyway, I liked Planet Terror than the other one because Planet Terror really sucked and it was just plain crazy: in terms of color/saturation/contrast/film grain/camera angles/cheese actings/plot. It really became what it was supposed to be.
On the other hand, Bullet Proof was too well made.
