Just watched Band of Brothers

I'm watching the the episodes they're showing on History channel. Don't know how true those accounts are, but it's pretty impressive what easy company had to go through. They pretty much had to go from town to town, constantly getting ambushed, clearing the way for the rest of the forces.

Best Miniseries EVAR!

I didn't have HBO at the time of the first airing and then I dind't want to spend $80+ on DVDs.

Other than the swearing, the remaining men of Easy Company said the miniseries was fairly accurate.

I watch the entire miniseries straight through 3-4 times a year. Good stuff.

i need to watch it again. i started to get lost towards the end... too many characters and different directors and not enough continuity or story line. I was able to follow the book a lot better.

Still a great series.

Disc 4 is supposed to ship from Netflix today along with 24: Season 2 - Disc 1.

I'm late, I know. 😱

VERY accurate... the most accurate accounts of that action ever filmed.. they used real people names and accounts from the survivors of Easy Co..
there is a DVD in that set that shows interviews with Winters and a few of the other guys that are still alive..
very very good DVD

It got lost in the 9/11 attacks for me. I had planned on watching it when it aired but only managed to catch bits and pieces here and there. I still need to watch it.

Absolutely.
I've rented it twice. I got it from Netflix the first time. My wife and I loved it so much that we hated having to wait several days between each disc arriving.
When it aired on the History channel earlier this year, we started watching it, but couldnt' stand the thought of waiting a whole week between each episode. So we rented it from Blockbuster so we could get all 6 discs at once. We watched all 10 episodes and the documentary in 3 days.

If any of you missed the disc 6 material (documentary, etc.), you have to see it. It really adds a lot to the whole experience.

I would not go that far. Some of the stories are down right completely wrong. The most glaring change in history was the story of Albert Blithe, who was not killed in World War 2, was not shot in the neck, and did not suffer from hysterical blindness. I be his surviving relateives were shocked when they saw that episode.

So, what's the ratio of inaccurate details vs accurate details? 1:1,000,000?

I'm ok with that. 🙂

It was an awesome series. It is indeed very accurate however there were some changes, but besides the nitpicking it has been considered an accurate representation. Not every character in the series was a real person and not every real person was in the mini-series, but for the most part it is very historical in nature.
