Hi my name is JJ and just wanted to say hello to everyone. I just found this wonderful site a few months ago and decided to join this place. I like to build computers and enjoy playing games ALOT like Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, Doom 3, UT2004, etc...

I have built my first PC like about 6 months ago. Here are my specifications for it:

Motherboard: Asus P4S800D-E Deluxe
Processor: intel P4 3.0EGHz Prescott
Memory: 1 GB of Corsair PC3200
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
Hard Drive: 120 GB Western Digital (not SATA just regular IDE)
PC Case: Enermax Blue Aluminum ATX Mid Tower with 400W Power Supply
DVD Drive: NEC DVD Burner (and that's all I remember LOL)

All computer parts were from NewEgg.com.

JJ

Wow...

I feel bad for you.

Why?

You could have made your money go a lot further. I'd give your rig a 2/10, and that's only because of the NEC burner.

LOL, I know but I never had any experience building computers before and this was my first one. However, I will be doing ALOT more research on my next rig. Thanks! :)

That's the good thing about p4. It's very good at multitasking. Now he can play doomIII (well not really with that video card but HL-2 then) and BBQ steaks at the same time :)

It just seems your in to games, A K8 (Athlon 64) has a better FP and F calaculator thingy which helps with games.

If you were goona go P4, go Northwood (3.4GHz).

F math calculation something and the K8's higher floating point helps alot in games, your talking babout 10 FPS, which isnt that much but then again your card isnt great, sorry if this seems like Im putting your rig down Im not, its fine, but I would of gone for an athlon 64 if I was that into gaming.

But like I said, if you really wanted to go Intel, you should of gone nortwhood, they run cooler and have the same performance.
