Just want to make sure...

I'm thinking of trading in this P3 system and going to a T-bird but I want to make sure of something first before I purchase the memory.

It looks like the majority of the overclocking for Duron/Tbird systems is done with changing the multiplier (maybe a little FSB action but not much). Because of this, it seems like good quality PC100 would be ok. No need to spend extra bucks on PC133. Does this sound right or am I not seeing something?

With most Athlon boards, you can run memory at 133 while processor is at 100. So for the very few extra dollars it might be worth going to 133 if you're buying new memory; if you already have PC100 memory on hand, the performance boost won't probably be worth replacing it.

It depends on what kind of performance you want. If you want very good performance, get good quality PC133. Most of the KT133 boards with good overclocking features will have the ability to run the RAM at 140-150MHz with a combination multiplier/FSB overclock, which is where you will get the best performance overall.
