The SRT-8? I doubt it. What's a Crown Vic with police package cost? $22-23k at fleet prices? The SRT-8 has got to be $10k more expensive even with fleet discounts.

yeah, the SRT-8 would be too expensive.. the RT, otoh, could *probably* compete with the crown vic on price, not to mention it still has lots of power and gets decent mileage for an 8cylinder
 
FYI, the crown vic is 4000 lbs, and only has 250hp with a dinky sc. It is heavily overewighted and underpowered to be a pursuit car.
 
Most of the local (Auburn Hills) PD Chargers have the 3.5L, not the 5.7L Hemi, just FYI. Some do...but with such nice cities around here, everybody has a few Corvettes/Vipers/etc. show-off cars.
