Just to make sure that my mobo is dead, and not anything else that is making my computer not start up, I wanted to see if my mobo has all the signs of "deadness". Just tell me what you guys think.
1) Pulled out all card except videocard and booted up - no beeps
2) Reseated RAM and booted - no beeps
3) Reseated CPU and booted - no beeps
4) Switched videocard and booted - no beeps
5) Tried CPU in another computer - test computer booted fine
6) Flashed motherboard by pulling out the jumper, then putting it back - no beeps
7) Cleared CMOS by pulling out lithium battery for few seconds - no beeps
8) Booted the computer with no cards in whatsoever - no beeps
9) Booted computer without RAM chips - no beeps
I have come to the conclusion that my motherboard is dead, but maybe one of you guys knows something that I haven't done that could fix this. I've read the KT7 faq and I know the codes for beeps. Please, provide your input, any would be appreciated. Thanks
btw, I have one more thing to try... which is to take another CPU and put it in my comp. If it still doesn't work, then well, dead mobo. 🙁
