I remember a New Year's Day in South Carolina... we were all wearing t-shirts and some really scared girls also had thin jackets... hmmm. Wussies!

Thank god the winters around here (SC) don't get bad. Knowing how retarted people are on the roads down here the statewide population would drop into the double digits over night.

Realisticly though it sucks. My birthday is in January and being from Kansas I'm used to snow on my birthday. Last winter it was in the 50's until friggin December, then barely dipping through the 40's until about late January. Damn I hate the south.

I love how the south basically shuts down if a snowflake hits ground. (and all the damn milk, bread and toilet paper get bought off the grocery store shelves).

It is retarded yes, but you have to remember two things 1) More often than not, it is ice, not snow 2) We dont put nearly the same amt of money that northern states put into taking care of the roads and the such since we rarely get any winter precipitation (at least where I am at).

Well... You gotta consider how much of that "road money" is going to fix the roads that are damaged by salt and plowing. So it's not that we have better roads.

Seriously, I lived in Kissimmee, FL and they had been doing work on a stretch of 192 (by the Super-Walmart) the entire year I lived there (still working on it when I left). Northern states would have pumped that b!tch out in 3 months (except the Detroit area.....gawd, do those people do ANYTHING??).

Anyway, I know that the South has no concept of or (on average) a need for a fleet of Plows/Sweepers/Salters/etc....but it's still a little ridiculous.

Like they say: "Here in MN we have two seasons... Winter and Construction!" 😀

ha-ha! 😛

Hopefully that means that we will get some cold-air-comming-down-the-gorge-action again this winter. Last winter rocked! 😀

Mmm.. 18ºF with 6" of snow on the ground and ice on the inside of the windows.

Now that's my kind of winter!

In Eau Claire, WI (where I went to school) That was the norm, except often another 10 degrees colder.....and THAT probably isn't cold to all those poor saps who go to school way up in Superior or Duluth, MN.

I gotta admit, there were many days where I skipped classes simply because it was too effing cold to even think about getting out of bed, much less going outside (stupid student-ghettos with big, old houses that have ZERO insulation and are impossible to heat well and too expensive even if you tried...I could go on for days).

Sweet. The colder it is, the more my fellow Georgians are inclined to stay inside and out of my face. 😀

Look here thong boy!! LOL. You don't know how much I dread even regular Winter let alone this predicted season. On the other hand, having visited there three months ago, I see your point...lol. That's some serious traffic you have going on for one thing. 🙂
I'll explain: I grew up in MI so cold doesn't bother me in the least. Southerners are wussies about it, so the colder it is, the fewer people are out on the roads trying to run me over. It's a good thing. 🙂

 Cheers, Fausto!

I've grown up in Montana my entire life. I was down in Atlanta for school at GT last year (transfered back home. I'm a pussy). Wore shorts aaaallllllllll the time. Probably only 20 days of the year I really had to wear pants.

What the... You complainig about little colder than usual winter. You'll still have like +15C. Come and visit Finland 🙂 January and February I guarantee -20C... at best -35C
That'll learn ya! 😉

Heck.......... I came from the generation of Canadians that was caught between the imperial & metric conversion.......... I still prefer some Imperial units 🙂 I still like to use pounds & inches & miles per gallon.

No thanks! I won't even move back to the Northern US let alone Finland. 🙂 I get along better with palm trees and shorts in the Winter. Now that's what Winter should be like! Why did I ever move from FL. 🙁

Yep. I hold off breaking out the pants as long as possible each year.🙂

That sounded bad, didn't it? 😕

Just think, you could live in Syracuse and be buried under multiple feet of snow all winter.

It does make for some pretty good donuts in the parking lot at work, though. 🙂

I hope it snows five feet a day. Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stop whining about the cold for chrissakes.

There is no more cold in the mid atlantic region.

We need another winter like '77!

My husky can't wait until it cools off and either can I. Yesterday it was 40F outside in the AM and the A/C is still going near full tilt in this nest.

Cheers!

That's why I moved to Virginia 🙂 I did see some pictures of Oswego last year. Wow, they got a lot of snow!

Oh please, it's not that bad down here in the winter. I had nothing but a moto for about a year and there were really only a few days it was miserable.

Buy an Aerostitch and be happy.
