Afterwards I went and drove the Accord Coupe V6. Nice, but not as fun to drive as the 3.5 V6 Altima. The manual option is smooth and the CVT is even smoother.

The coupe is way too hard to find right now and I kinda like the idea of having more room so gonna go pick up the 07 sedan next week hopefully.

Like I've said time and time again, no your econobox does not scream and it certainly won't make your neck hurt at that power.

a 270HP V6 is not an econo box, and for someone coming from a 105hp Jetta, it does hurt your neck.

What's with people who own a sports car and call everything that has less HPs than their car an econobox? oh well if it makes you feel superior, good for you buddy.

Does that make 210 hp "American Muscle" or "starved econobox"?

LOL at idiots assuming I'd drive a v6 stang (which is a better engine for a muscle car and has exhaust etc) (waits for hp/l n00b arguement). And guess what? A mustang is not an econobox it has let me see, a personality.

It's okay continue to drive your anonymous vehicles I'd rather not notice you anyway.

I don't believe anyone said or made any assumptions about you driving a V6 Mustang. You completely missed the point.

OP, I dont know if you had the chance to gun it from a stop or not, but has Nissan solved their FWD torque steer problem? I remember reading a review about them changing the layout or position of the engine which would eliminate torque steer.
(Just out of curiosity from an older torque steering maxima) :)

Riiiiiiight, so when it comes to Nissans, 270 HP is econobox territory, but a Ford with 210 HP has a personality.
Is that the same personality that can only manage 0-60 in 7 seconds compared to the automatic Altima sedan's 6.4, or the personality that loses in the 1/4 mile? The personality that can only manage 18/26 MPG compared to 22/28 MPG, or the personality that doesn't come with stock ABS or TCS?
I prefer to drive unnoticed in my personality-free vehicle, that way I can soundly destroy any V6 'Stangs that want to race. By the way, I prefer to call it a sleeper.

LOL you DO NOT have a sleeper. And, I love how you n00bs like always switch the situation to another car. The OP the car test drove is not a screamer not a sleeper nor is it fast.

And yes you implied I cared about a v6 mustang.

Good lord you can be dense... the implication people were making was that you think anything with 270HP or less is an econobox.
a 270hp is an econobox.
So by your words, you would consider a car, even a Mustang (whether its V6 or V8, seeing as previous gen Mustang GTs had 260hp), with 270HP or less to be an econobox.

Yeah, While I'd agree that the Nissan has no real soul, it is definitely not an econobox. Its just a mundane attempt at a coupe :).

European cars have real spirit! Only a few Japanese cars accomplish this feat!

Actually you assumed I made that implication, as most non econobox fanboys could tell I was talking about the OP's test drive car. LOL

I give up. You are too difficult to reason with. Try typing what you mean next time.

SVT Cobra, I see you mentioned that the Mustang's V6 is better than Nissan's VQ35DE. Um, no. The VQ sounds better, has proven itself in other cars, puts out much more power, is more effecient, and much more reliable.

Also, someone buying the Altima isn't going to think about the heritage behind the car. Except for drag racing, the Mustang really has no heritage, and has a stigma of having its driver be an insecure, young punk who just wants to show off. I would say Nissan VQ engine has a lot more "personality" than the Mustang itself. Look at the Skyline GT-R's application of it.

I didn't switch the situation to another car, the Altima coupe and sedan are extremely similar, same interior, same engine, they nearly share a platform, and a couple hundred pounds handicap the sedan. I brought the Mustang up because 1. you've got an undying hardon for them, and 2. it's got less than 270 hp and loses to both the Altima sedan and coupe, along with the Accord, and the Camry. I like my rice steamed, not fried.

The V6 in the Mustang growls only like an American motor can. Plus, it's got a better torque curve (let's completely ignore the fact that it's still got less torque than the VQ35 as configured in the 3.5 SE Altima)
