I agree that it's not bad, but you can't taste the difference from cow's milk?! They are completely different to my taste buds.

Definitely. Whoever says their the same is off their rocker. It is a good alternative, but it cannot take the place of milk.

their = they're.

It has been a long time since Ive had it. I need to start going to my local organic foods store.

That is really interesting, but it is certainly not a cause for alarm unless you're a bodybuilder.. and uh, I've got some news for you...

Do you realize how many hormones they pump into cows to make them produce more milk? Estrogen and Progesterone, probably along with a myriad of others..

Some people believe that the female hormones in dairy products are the prime case for the clear and marked decrease in the age that women start menstruating. The average age has decreased by 3 or 4 years in the last 50 years; from 13-14 to 10-11.. some as early as 9.

I see the point if you are lactose intolerant but otherwise, no.
It isn't good for you. At least, not as good as they say it is.

We're the only thing that drinks something elses milk. It was meant for baby cows, not grownup humans.

Organic milk would be better, due to the lack of hormones.

Just think how much money is at stake with the dairy industry. That is why you do not see much on it. Milk really is not that good for you when they are far better alternatives

EVERYTHING we eat can be bad for you if you have too much of it.. well maybe minus things like water 😉

I am no body builder but I like to workout twice a week and I don't workout for size just performance, and I like my fair share of Dairy and Meats and I am sure many people can't handle the amount of milk I consume myself, but I am fairly heathy because I do even out my diet with veggies and breads, that is the key to it all a balanced diet.

oh and to HELL with all those Docs who put those articles out, they are just making a name for themselves and it's all based on OPINION, I am PROOF milk is not bad for everyone.

Well..I guess the only way you could really see how "bad" it is, is to have an exact copy of yourself, and eat everytihng the same except for dairy. One has dairy, the other doesnt. Who knows..you may just now know how you'd be different without drinking milk.

You sound just like an uncle i had. smoked all his life and lived to be 75 years old. He always claimed that he was evidence that Smoking wasn't bad for him.

I don't eat anything with milk. I don't think it's hurting me, but I grew up on pizza and ice cream, and I tell you I have a serious craving for both.

There is a reason why people cant drink a whole gallon of milk at once without tossing it back up.

LOL, another great comparison, Cigarette's vs Milk

I usually buy half-gallons of Sun Soy for $2.34 at Giant Foods. I can get the organic stuff from Trader Joe's for $2.79.

I'm hooked on soy products. I've eaten soy milk and tofu (of course), soy cheese, soy bacon, soy burgers, soy chicken, soy meatloaf, soy taco filling, soy ice cream, soy sausage and more. I'm not "legally" a vegetarian because I still find myself eating meat on occasion but the soy products have allowed me to throttle back on the animal consumption significantly.

I find that some soymilks don't have the same texture and feeling as milk. RiceDream comes pretty close the the milk texture. I like both (almost all kinds of soymilk i like, from the fresh stuff at Ranch 99, to stuff at pack-n-save), and still to this day, I think that milk isn't that healthy for you except for the vitamin D, K and calcium in it.

Soy milk rocks. It's so good for you, and if you search around it is not hard to find a brand that you like. You really do have to do that though, there are some NASTY ones out there.

You also can't really compare it to milk. If you do, you will be disappointed.. It's just a good tasting alternative, it works very well for things like cereal.. the vanilla flavor(I always got vanilla, original is nasty) usually goes with cereal well.

Congrats on doing something for yourself.

i switch between "regular" milk and soy. it all depends on my budget at the time.
but i really do like soy milk. if it werent for the price, id always buy it. i generally only use milk for breakfast.

Most of the calcium in milk that you take in is countered by the high amount of lactic acids which leech it out of you again.
