I try to figure out the talent/training system now..i have reason to believe that my spells/talents dont level up the same way as my level does.
I am lvl11 warlock now but for now only could apply 3 talent points to increase spells?

Every level after 10 awards you with one talent point. You are able to train at every even numbered level.

Quit now while you're ahead.

And while you still have a life.

Don't listen to these guys. If you or anyone else is unable to practice proper moderation then you have much bigger problems to worry about. That weakness will be exploited whether you play an MMO or not.

The addon Questhelper basically walks you through every quest in-game. On-screen, it gives you best routes and where to go and what to kill and for what. It's one of the most downloaded but of course this doesn't give you the full experience. But if you're looking to level quick, that's the mod to get. If you want something more low-key, get Lightheaded, which puts wowhead.com's comments right into the game as well so you don't have to alt-tab out.

You can get another mod by the same author as Lightheaded called Tomtom. It's pretty neat because you can input coords and it will put a little arrow on the screen (and a dot on the map/minimap) that will help you get to where you need to be. It actually works hand in hand with lightheaded because you can click on coords listed in lightheaded and it will automatically add the waypoint for you.

I'm leveling up a new character and this has been invaluable even for someone who has leveled too many characters already... ;)

My opinion is based on the mere fact that I only enjoy leveling up. Once I hit max level and realize there's nothing to do other than the same 5 hour instances over and over and over just hoping to get some stupid purple item that does another 10dps is where I lose all interest in the game. I guess I'm not a true MMO fan, I enjoy the adventure, seeing new areas, new enemies, getting new weapons/armor along the way, but once it's nothing but item hunting, I'm done with the game.

I tried 3 or 4 of the endgame instances, declared it a joke, and started a new toon.

I can see that. Personally I enjoy the end game because I like taking down new bosses. The loot is secondary to me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy shiny purples as much as the next guy but I get a lot more satisfaction taking down a new boss than I do picking up a new item that, as you say, only adds another 10dps or +10 healing to my stats.

To sum it up, loot is no comparison to the satisfaction of spending time learning how to take down a boss and finally doing it.

Also, I play probably 10-12 hours a week. I get on to raid during the week and have a good timing in rl on the weekends. It is possible to have a life and raid (and this is not directed at you schizoid, just at the general naysayers).

The addon Questhelper basically walks you through every quest in-game.

I normally use Lightheaded with TomTom but I got QH and Carbonite last night to try out.

I loaded Carbonite first. It's a very nice quest addon. What I don't like is the extra mini-map that opens every time I hit the map button. But other than that it's very cool. It puts your quests in the order that they should be completed based on where you are at the time. Then once you select a quest, it gives you icons on the map that indicate where you are and where you need to go for the quest with a dotted line. There is a direction indicator arrow that stays up in the HUD so you can follow it without the map being opened and it also indicates distance from the quest.

Tonight I'm going to try QuestHelper to see how that is.
