Which brings me to my question #1:
I'm running the SMP client on my dual-core 4000+, and it hasn't finished its first WU yet. It's at 80% after 44 hours or so. Should finish at 53 hours. What is the time limit on SMP? For some reason its bouncing around in my head that there is a 48 hour limit, unless you download WU's without deadlines. I wouldn't guess that such a new processor would be lagging past deadlines, but I guess I wanna make sure?

Question #2:
I installed the regular (non-smp) CLI version on my gf's 3200+, and it's running in the background as a service. Is there some way that I can bring the cmd window up again so that I can monitor progress?

Thanks!!

mild

If there is a new WU project that your monitor doesn't know about yet you might be able to find it listed here.
The column headed "Preferred (days)" is the days to when your WU will be sent to somebody else to crunch also. As long as you send it in before the "Final deadline (days)" you will get full points, which are listed in the "Credit" column.

The deadlines can be different for each WU project depending on how long it takes to crunch on the Stanford benchmark comuter.

The project WU name looks like this:

[22:29:40] Project: 2653 (Run 3, Clone 158, Gen 22)

The Run, Clone, Gen numbers denote a unique WU that was created from results sent in from one WU before it in series.

The contents of the cmd window are in the file named "FAHlog.txt" in your folding directory.

There are lots of people who only try and then quit. Some of those at the bottom are typos some of us have made when entering our folding name!
Also, when F@H started, WUs were only worth a couple points

Any questions just ask :)

I think fahmon will be a good solution for me too. Especially now that I'm starting to make plans for a farm at home...

Hahaha, he just started an he is already going for farm status!
lol

OMG! who got him hooked on cracking!?:Q

Told you I was gonna get addicted! I've been thinking about this for a few months, even though i just got started this week. I've always had trouble finding things to do with my spare computer parts, and now I'll be able to put them to good use. Hopefully I'll upgrade my gaming rig to a quad in the spring, which'll free up my opteron 175 for strictly crunching use. Then the gf will be needing an upgrade not too long after that... and so on, and so on, and so on, and so OH NO I'M HAVING THE SHAKES!
lol ,you'd better upgrade & crunch then!:Q:D

LoL! :D

Yeah, it is very addicting. But that is always so when something is fun and when it also does something useful! :sun:

Thanks AS1

When I was spouting off about 'next week', this is it. (the Q6600-main is new as of last night).
Don't give up on that daily though... I may not be able to keep this new one in the race..... at least not for a while. (It's a good reason and reason for smiles, not concerns)

Crunch baby crunch!

m1ldslide1: It sounds like you should run FAHMON, I just learned of it, and its great !

BTW, I think the time limit is 3 days, so you should be OK.

Is FAHMON linux (ubuntu IIRC) only?

EDIT: NVM, I have it installed now. I completely thought it was linux only. This is nice. :D
I need to get access to the machines I have crunching elsewhere. hehehe

Like my farm ? A mix of Windows 2k, XP and ubuntu

Looks like this. Total PPD=24k

how do u get more than 1 WU to run at a time?? my FAHmon 2.3.1 only says i'm running one...
