Wow, it really helps to throw your CPU usage to like 70% when you go to sleep/school. :) Things move a hell of a lot faster.

Try 88%.

I read somewhere that someone did a bit of checking and it seems that 88 or 89% CPU usage was a sweet spot as far as not being able to notice DC running on the computer with normal usage (YMMV). (intense gaming would be another thing)

I've run 5.03 GUI and 5.04 beta console before @ 100% while gaming and never noticed any appreciable impact. YMMV I guess.

I joined the folding team also and should have 8 computers running the client online shortly. My Grandmother suffered greatly from Alzheimer's disease and I would love to help find a cure for it.

Ausm

I have a friend who's mother has Alzheimer's disease. The same thing drew me to Folding@Home!

I actually started folding late '03/early '04. I did it out of the goodness of my heart ;)

Now that my grandmother has Alzeimers I can further appreciate the F@H effort.

I'm in the same boat as you... I've never really had a problem w/ any of my regular folding boxes SMP, console, and graffic. The only time I ever noticed any lag was w/ my GPU client.
