Just spent $500.00 on software. Does anyone report to resellerratings .com?

I had to get Win7 because XP isn't possible. I had to blow $500.00 on new software to make it function. For the curious:

Cyberlink PowerDVD 9.0 OEM - ON SALE 1 $8.00 $8.00
Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 OEM - ON SALE 1 $10.00 $10.00
Roxio Creator Pro 2011 Retail Box - ON SALE 1 $94.00 $94.00
Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 Premium Retail Box - ON SALE 1 $123.00 $123.00
McAfee AntiVirus Plus 2011 OEM - ON SALE 1 $8.00 $8.00
Microsoft Streets & Trips w/GPS Locator 2010 Retail Box 1 $45.00 $45.00

Also $200.00 to license downloadables.

Do others use reselleratings.com to check out new vendors? Is anyone a member there?

I've used them for 10 years and since I'm buying new computer software, I'm thinking I should join and offer feedback. Thanks.

I DO use reseller ratings for that purpose and I DO rate companies that I deal with.

I use reseller ratings to rate vendors, and I use it to screen vendors.

When considering a vendor, you should look at more than just the rating. Look at the individual reviews. It is a warning sign when a vendor has lots of similar reviews from users who have only left reviews for that vendor.

You did not look hard enough. There are places that will sell XP and they are legit

I needed a new laptop and I wanted WINXP rather than WIN7 because I have lots of older programs I've bonded with.

If you know of someone good selling new laptops downgraded to WINXP; please let me know. I finally bought a Lenovo, I7 processor with 8 gigs of RAM. I couldn't find a major manufacturer offerring WINXP downgrades.

If you know someone who is, please advise. Thanks

IMO, out of those all you really _needed_ were Dragon and Streets and Trips.

Just curious, the windows 7 that came with the laptop / the one you bought. its it pro or higher? if you do have the option to downgrade to xp pro, as it is an end-user right

You just have to have the media and the key for xp pro, do the install and activate it. If previously activate you may have to call ms and let them know that you are doing a downgrade.

Manufactures previously offered the option for simplicity, but there is nothing preventing you from doing it, provided you have the proper licensing.

But seeing as you had already purchased all the software, there nothing wrong with keeping windows 7

I ended up with WIN7 Home Premium from Lenovo because I wanted to pay $995.00. If I configured the same laptop to get WIN7 PRO, the price went to $2000.00 as a custom machine. I had a $580.00 off coupon for this model. Ideapad, I7 with 8 gig of RAM. It's the IdeaPad Y560 Laptop - 06465CU - Black (with 1.3MP Camera) at the link below:

I've been thinking of dual boot with this adding WIN7 Pro so I'd have the XP compatability mode. I'd like WINXP in a heartbeat, but I believe there would be driver issues If I don't keep a partition with WIN7 Home Premium I'll invalidate my 3 year warranty. You had a great idea and I'd like any workarounds if you've any ideas.
