Fulton county tax sucks. We're higher than all the other surrounding counties since we're subsidizing the city of Atlanta and the airport. Don't you have to pay separate Alpharetta tax?

Yes It doesn't appear to be that much, but I haven't seen the final breakdown yet as it only included estimated taxes. We almost bought an acreage in Cherokee County, and the tax differences alone almost made up for the difference in cost.

I work with a guy that has about 20 acres south of Atlanta. I don't know the county, but his taxes are ~$450/year he says.

That's the plan. I don't remember all the rules for Georgia, so I'll have to refamiliarize myself with Fulton County's benefits.

i do not have the exact numbers on hand but the benefit is HUGE. that reminds me i need to contact the county and verify there were no problems with my application since they are so slow on confirming the application (it has been a few months)
