Just Say NO

How the hell does this man have money for that kind of meal?

Guess he doesn't like keeping the money in the bank

I think money in the bank means money for the Goldmans. So, no, he probably doesn't like to keep money in the bank.

IIRC, he has a hell of a lot of money that they can't touch.

Not sure if DirecTV can touch it though. 😛

His NFL pension. In California, it can't be taken to pay for any court judgement.

edit* actually, looking into it, that might not be that much. He probably still makes quite a bit from celebrity appearances and stuff.

"It was the first time since 1994 he has ever shown any class," Ruby said. "He showed it that night in the restaurant" by leaving quietly.

Yes...because he's been following Simpson around for the past 13 years...

Over 10 years. Sheesh. Childish

He was found guilty in the civil trial.

I think the term would be liable, not guilty. But yeah, dude killed two people, he just got away with it.

Nope, still "guilty" - even in a civil trial. IIRC he was found guilty of wrongful death, basically the civil equivalent to a criminal charge of murder.

It sure is disgusting to me that he has so much magic money the comes from who knows where. Just as disgusting are the people that regardless fawn over him looking for table scraps. He has to be under the protection of some powerful people IMO to be able to evade paying.

Still. This is a pretty huge story.

The owner of a restaurant asked someone to leave and that person left.

Looks like we know what the front page of tomorrow's New York Times is gonna look like 🙂

Actually, its alot.
He gets $25K a month from his NFL pension.
Thats $300K a year. More than enough to live lavishly.

So should his ex and Ron. Sheesh, it's been ten years since you were brutally murdered, get over it.

He's a murderer, cudos to the owner.

The real killer is still out there, OJ was just looking for him in that restaurant!

Haha, finally something worth reading in this thread. Who gives a crap about celebs.

Argh! :| It irritates the heck out of me when people say that. No, he was not "found innocent", he was found "not guilty", and the two are not the same. Not guilty means there was not enough evidence to convict him. It does not mean he didn't do it, it just means they could not prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Innocent means he didn't do it.

Where is the race card? Ohh ya, here it is!

Simpson's attorney, Yale Galanter, said the incident was about race, and he intended to pursue the matter and possibly go after the restaurant's liquor license.

"He screwed with the wrong guy, he really did," Galanter said by telephone Tuesday night.

It's not possible to find someone innocent.

Edit-You are either found guilty or not guilty. Not guilty != innocent.

He murdered two people and got off despite the mountain of evidence against him.

I applaud the owner of that restaurant.

Actually, that's not quite true either. In certain cases, if a judge is convinced that the person really is "innocent" and not just "not guilty", they can take the unusual step of a finding of "innocent".

Should have stipulated that it's not possible for a jury to find a defendant innocent. 😉

Jeff Ruby may have some nice steak places but as a person he is kind of an arrogant ass.

A few years ago his son was caught during some drunken college antics (rolling cars/setting fire to property) at the U of Cincy and I think his basic response was along the lines of... eh, college/frat kids just acting crazy...
