Seriously man, I used to subscribe to the whole punk rock anti-establishment ethos, then I graduated from high school, got a job, started paying rent, and figured out that spoonfed is spoonfed, regardless of who's holding the spoon.

I was not reffering to US as a whole I correct myself then if this was the case. I was reffering to people who label anyone with a differing opinion then CNN MSNBC foxnews the white hou$e with commie al-Qaeda etc. And the whole calling people terrorists when this country is founded by terrorists standing up against a imperial power.
I really resent that crap I am not a religious zealot wanting to blow up crap for allah nor am I a xtrian. It's a pissing contest betwen both of them and a third opinion (the only sane one IMO) is just as valid. I am sick of the black and white view forced upon people by people with their own interests (and wallets) trying to discredit ideas by calling them the "enemy" it is a generalazation and a shame that Americans are crapping upon our history by spewing this hate and bias against what this country is founded upon.

Have you ever noticed there are no punk-rockers over 30?

I mean we have aged rock stars, aged hippies, but no punk-rockers?

Unless you want to count Billy Idol

Sward666- And you are proud of selling yourself out... So how would you think I would find anything you say credible.?
There is always an easy way out.
Until it comes to bite us on the ass.
BTW that whole "Punk Rock Ethos" thing is a silly high school rebellion and is not what I was speaking of or why I put this here.
And Jello is not in high school for a looong time now nor was he anywhere near it when he wrote that.
He was an adult with enough backbone to carry on what he sees as right and not roll over and take it
.

Yup, that's our president, alright.

Too bad the rest of his administration is worse than that.

Nope never noticed I don't watch mtv, nor care what the entertainment industry is interested in feeding me to buy more stuff.
But a good american consumer like yourself should know. lol
go get yourself a steaming cup of starbucks and pour it all over your crotch next time you feel the need to pass judgement based off of something you know nothing of.
Billy Idol was a mtv idiot with the patented "punk rock" sneer as plastic and empty as your knowledge of culture.
And yes I do know punks over 30 that make a living and are not dirt poor and never had to blow someone for a corprate job or wear a suit to fit in with someone elses idea of adult.
Some people are too weak to carry their ideas throughout their life and figure out how to make do without demeaning themselves.
But then being a sheep is easy isn't it?

I'm not proud of growing up, if that's what you mean, because it really should be expected. Maybe I should be, since so many other people have such a hard time doing the same.

As for whether or not you find me credible, I don't really give a fvck. How's that for punk-rock? You want to put JB on a pedestal, go right ahead. As far as I'm concerned, he's just another preacher delivering just another sermon from just another mount.

I am not putting him on a pedestal some of what he rants about I do not agree but aspects of the war and how the goverment is handling it I do.
I myself have moved on from being young but I will never "grow up" life for me is a never ending part of growing.

somehow, i think that if the govt wanted to assassinate a lame washed up punk rocker, they would have succeeded. he's either very paranoid or very confused.

Hey, at some point one has to realize that the system we've got is the ONLY one we've got, and one has to make a living within it and plan ahead for when one's too old to do so... without factoring Social Security into the equation. Working within the system while trying to change it aren't necessarily conflicting goals. Gotta make peace on some fronts, keeep waging war on others.

I'm old enough to remember when Jello & Co. got started. Back then, we compared Cowboy Ronnie to the Antichrist. Turns out Ronnie was a boyscout. Bush Jr., Cheney, Ashcroft & Co. scare the living sh!t out of me. I have NEVER felt as fearful about this country's future as I do today.

As this particular "punker" approaches the 36 year milestone, he wonders what kind of stability the current administration promises for the future. Diplomatic isolation, open-ended warfare and perpetual oil depenencies do not bode well to him.

Sorry... but I see an iceberg on the horizon and a captain at the helm who's determined to "stay the course".
