at the end when the bride and dustin's character are in the bus, they smile, then hoffman's character has a non-emotion look, she looks at him, he doesn't look back, and she has the same look as well. what does that mean?? am i looking too much into it?

They are worried about their uncertain future?
I believe the whole movie is about the generation that is lost in the turbulence of those times.

Nailed it -- or at least that's the conclusion reached in almost every single college film class that studies the movie.

I thought the movie was about a lucky guy who was getting it from both the mom and the daughter.

Later on in the movie, I thought Hoffman's character gave that look because he just realized that the "mommy train" has left and now he can only have the daughter -- he's crying a little bit inside since if he played it a little bit better he could have continued having both.

I always figured he was thinking "now what?" From the beginning of the movie, he's looking for a direction, something to drive him. He finds it in her, but after he gets her, he's more or less back where he started.
