I say, yes, deserving of best picture.

Kept my attention throughout...and DeCaprio should have deserved the best actor nod over Nicholson.

just watched it again tonight. what was the significance of the golden dome? I know it was the state house. was that a nod to Matt Damon's ambitions?

I thought this was a good movie, but not great, too predictable, you cant tell me you didnt know all of that would happen.

It was good and was the best Movie this year but it paled in comparison to other Scorsese Movies like Good Fellas, the Aviator, Gangs of New York, Cape Fear, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Color of Money and Casino.

It had one hell of an ending 😀

That it did! Lots of violence. Even my wife liked it, but I think she only liked it because of the eye candy.

Infernal Affairs 2, and 3 got kinda boring. Same kinda stuff over and over again. 1 was great though, I liked it better than The Departed.

I'll give you most of the ones you mentioned, but Cape Fear and Gangs of New York...ehhhhhhh
Well I thought the ending of The Departed was weak, if not for that I would agree with you about Cape Fear. Personally I thought Gangs of New York was head and shoulders better than The Departed. Just my opinion.

This movie does not warrant a second viewing, I prefer watching the Infernal Affairs trilogy.

um...yes it does

Watching The Departed is like reading the cliff notes of a good book.

I'm pretty sick of this "Infernal Affairs is better" nonsense.

If you don't speak Cantonese, reading subtitles is not a viable way to watch a film and truly understand what is going on.

maybe it was the hype, but when we saw this when it came out on DVD, we were disappointed. The first hour was extremely slow and the movie and very predictable.

I guess to each his own then...
