Okay, it probably wasn't the head but a picture. The box was too small to actually contain a living head. Pictures can be doctored. I'd have to know.

I liked it the first time I saw it, when it was called Silence of the Lambs.

I appreciate the craftsmanship of the movie but the serial killer genre's played out in my opinion. Wonder if anyone will see Fincher's new one, Zodiac. Looks kinda dull to me.

I saw it, It was lame. I would get a refund if that were an option but it is not so I will spread the word that it was lame.

But honestly now, why else would Mills' wife and baby have such importance in the movie? They can't just bring all that stuff up and then end it...plus, with Mills' building personality throughout the movie, he definitely had it coming for him - the whole "feed off his emotions" thing gave it away.

I just think it ended too soon. We never find out what happened to the wife. We are left imagining that the killer left the wife in some horrible predicament, but David Mills opens the box, looks at the picture or whatever is inside, and just goes ballistic. He shoulda been thinking about the wife and rushed outta there. They never tied things up. Maybe they left it for a sequel?

Actually I think the movie ended fine, everything was tied up and didn't really leave anyone hanging. I don't expect a sequel and I have no idea what they would do if there was one.

Morgan Freeman looked at the box and noticed that there was blood on it while he was opening it. It was definitely a head. And give them a break, it's Hollywood.

It was an interesting movie through the first half but at the end the story got way too predictable. I saw the ending coming from a mile away, but everything else was done quite nicely: the acting, screenplay, even the LOTResque music was kinda cool.

LOTR-esque music? This movie came out WAY before LOTR hit the theaters.

A+ movie all around. And it's only "predictable" because the movie has been talked about for 10 years.

Actually I only said that because I noticed that the music was directed by Howard Shore. Of course this movie came out before LOTR, and I'm sure Howard used a lot of the styles for LOTR too.

As for the ending, I'm pretty sure I've seen scenes like it in a lot of other movies, maybe that's why I subconsciously knew what was going to happen.

I was giving my opinion of it as a first-time watcher after ten years of its existence. That's why I specifically noted that it was my first time seeing it. It's strange how our expectations of movies change over the years.

For the suspense. I just watched the ending again and there's definitely doubt in my mind as to what occurred. And that's the essence of a great movie ending.
