You people really can't drive at all during the winter????? Road covered with ice = ditches are full of cars, roads being closed, 3.5 hours for a trip that normally takes 1 hour...

Agreed, although as someone who has never read the books (thanks a LOT to that person who was giving away the ending of the NEXT movie :|), I was all too happy with their emphasis on the Helms Deep battle rather than the other two story lines.

i never read the books either, and i know the whole thing with Treebeard is part of the story or whatever, but when they kept cutting back to Treebeard during the Helm's Deep battle it kind of killed the pacing of the battle for me. Everytime they cut to the Treebeard scenes i was like hurry up and go back to the battle

One of the best movies I've seen in a long time but not without its share of some faults....cutting back and forth in some scenes made already the long 3 hours seem a bit longer. I can't wait to get the DVD when it does come out and camp out on my couch and watch it at my leisure...the battle scenes were epic to say the least. The final battle scenes are rediculous....just beautiful. Simply awesome...I must see it again and I rarely see movies at the theaters after the first time.

Well, my brother, his friend and I saw it at 1PM yesterday, and I thought it was awful too - and to add insult to injury, some damn kids were sitting next to me and they ACTAUALLY STARTED TO WEEP when Gandalf came back and explained what happened, and another was breathing heavily (when Liv Tyler's character was kissing Aragon) like he was having an orgasm . . . god, what a bunch of dorks.

I'm a dork too, but . . . gawd, what a buncha dorks.

I got annoyed more because some idiots kept on talking. But they didn't do it long enough for me to ask them to shut up. :| Nonetheless, they distracted me from getting into the movie at times.

Any ways, I found the movie short. :) I kept on going, "Don't end now! Don't end now! A little longer!"

I though they would put a teaser trailer at the end for the Return of the King :p

but, the movie is freakin awesome

i love LOTR...i played everquest for 3 yrs (kinda wasted my first 3 yrs of high school) but thats ok...now i love all that kinda stuff and this movie just hits the spot for me! :)

I got home at freakin' 6:40 this morning. I then watched 2 hours of Buffy and then went to sleep. I got up at around 4:00 this evening :Q

YOU TOO? :)
7-9am buffy is always good right before sleep.
I didn't think TTT was as well arranged / editted as the first one. The first one explains everything really well, and the pace is just perfect. TTT keeps cutting back and forth between the battle and the tree thingys.

Action scenes were awesome though. :)

Fake spoilers? The reason we are surprised is because Frodo does not die. And we were just wondering how someone would think that he dies.

I thought the first was good, not great but good. I just saw 2 towers on a giant theatre screen in the Sony/Leows Times Square NYC. I was amazed by the whole production. An incredible movie that needs to be seen in a good theatre. The cinematics were unbelievable. I enjoyed this 10x more then the first LOTR.

I am neither a follower of the LOTR book series or a movie theatre goer, and I have never been to a theatre twice to see the same move. I am going back to see this movie again.

o and btw I bought an Eticket from Fandango.com
$1.50 surcharge and I didnt have to wait in any lines. No fuss no muss. I plan on using that service everytime I go to the theatre now. The $1.50 surely makes up for waiting 30 minutes in line only to be told it's sold out.

Wow, that really sucks. I'm glad my theater wasn't full of insecure homophobes. I've been fortunate in that every time I've seen it so far people don't talk, they pay attention and only laugh at the comic relief (for the most part).
Heading out to see it again in a couple hours (w00t w00t)

were there only 10,000 orcs that attacked helm's deep? It seemed more like 1 million to me. Ok, maybe not 1 million, but definitely way more than 10,000.

man i just saw it again...OMG

yes, only 10,000 orcs attacked helms deep, but they got raped.

kinda sucks that most of the elves that came to help got slaughtered, but so goes war i guess.

man that movie was sweet.

im no maniac or obsessive LOTR idiot, but i hope when i die, if stuff happens when we die that is, that i am in a world with cool stuff like that haha. i would want to be legolas because that dude is the most skilled guy ive ever seen. even if that stuff is fake, he still makes it look awesome. like sliding down the stairs on a shield hitting people with arrows...oh the sweetness
