This movie, in my opinion was a very very very good movie. The story on this was flawless, why, because U NEVER knew what was gonna happen next, ever in the move. Most movies you can guess what will happen, and most of the time your right, but the more I thought about what and how it would end, the more my stomach begain to churn, I actually started getting sick to my stomach because I was nervous and scared as hell myself.

I know this is a weird topic, but I went and bought the movie, on dvd, watched it NOT knowing a thing about it, didnt really talk to anyone when it came out because im not a fan of Tom Cruises movies lately....

what did u think?

yes repost.

sh*t movie shot on cheap sh*t digital video that makes it look like tv, and a stupid villian that turns from brilliant to retarded at the end. stupid movie.

go watch heat if you think thats "brilliant". same director... cept heat isn't crap.

uhhhh....Most people would be hard pressed to know most of it was shot on HD.

I'm pretty sensitive to that and when I watched it on DVD a few weeks ago I had no idea most of it was shot on HD.

its probably much less obvious on dvd, but it was pretty obvious in the theater where it just looked tacky.

Yeah I liked it a lot. The criticisms I've heard have been criticisms turned outward that deserved to be inward; the person who hated it, and berates it, really hates themselves, and finds it easier to denigrate the movie. The movie's ending did get a bit weak, but otherwise it was a fine flick.

so.. people that don't like napoleon dynamite are really weirdos that hate themselves too? 😛

last time i checked its not ok to have a weak ending. only director fanboys would forgive that kinda thing.

how is the ending weak?? IMO its perfect.. it explains everything

SPOILER ALERT!!

the killer was planning to kill the prosecutor chick, thats why he wanted to head downtown...

remember that the killer got into the cab for the first time in the same building... so he was stalking the chick earlier

SPOLIERS

I agree with some posts here. I was enjoying the movie until Max flipped the cab and became this superior adversary for Vincent. Why oh why did Vincent have to go all the way downstairs to kill the lights to the building (giving Max plenty of time to make his way to th 16th floor) when all he was going after was an unsuspecting female lawyer. He just got finished walkign into a packed club and somehow shooting every threat before anyone even laid a finger on him.

and the end? a shootout? Max didn't get shot at all? Someone explain this crap to me.

Everything was great until the story decided it had to end soon and make Vincent go from high-powered, stealthy, sleek, smooth hitman to panicky, jittery, mistake-making, moron

yea they threw all the badass believability of vincents character out the door. this man was smart, deadly quick, plain devious, always knows how to survive, and never hesitates..he kills. what would his character think at the top of that building when the cabbie he thought was gone actually tracked and mysteriously found him, with a gun no less. instantly he'd reevaluate this guys threat level and take him out, no screwing around. and basically everything after that is vincent being retardedly out of character.

its one thing when the good guy goes rambo like in 28 days... a zombie flick, its another when the film is shot documentary style to enhance its gritty down to earth realism. basically they copped out at the end for a happy ending...or atleast an easy ending.

Hadn't read any spoilers, just reviews, and could pretty well figure out the plot form the moment he pickeu up the lawyer.

Worth renting, glad I didn't see it in the theatre though...

i also really enjoyed this movie. it was a lot better than i expected it to be. i also agree though that the end was kind of corny, gonig for the all out happy ending. tom cruise was this badass guy who could take out anyone with no problem, except the cab driver who was a scared pvssy the entire movie, until he wanted to save a girl that he saw for 5 minutes in the cab earlier. just very hollywood, but still, i really enjoyed the movie. the club scene kicks ass! i love the music w/that scene too.

I enjoyed it. However, I think it would have been much better if in the end, when the 2 step off the subway, Tom slowly lifts his head, you hear a the click of a clip being loaded, and then 4 quick shots.
