Things I liked about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Johnny Depp was awesome acting (either he's wierd or portrays a wierd character)
- funny jokes
- vibrant beautiful factory stage set
- Charlie's house fits the bill of what a poor house would look like, though exaggerated
- Johnny's moments of flashbacks :)

Things I didn't like about Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- why the hell didn't they hire real midgets for oompa loompa's?? The oompa loompa guy is a friggin eyesore and a major annoyance. Messed up big time here.
- the stupid between the movie play dances. The songs were horrible and the dance even worse.

I'm really disappointed they didn't use real midgets and instead relied on technology to duplicate the many oompa loompa's with the same ugly face.

Deep Roy is four foot four inches. That doesn't fall into midget? He is the most talented midget google his name or IMDB it. This movie was very well done!! You can't go wrong with Tim Burton + Danny Elfman + Johnny Depp.

I was expecting more from the flick myself. Disappointed in the too-obvious cgi for replicating faces. Disappointed a bit in the songs/dances. They were "almost" there, but didn't nail it.

I did like the bits of origin and basis for Willy Wonka, but afterward I found myself thinking longingly of Gene Wilder's original performance. Granted, Depp wasn't recreating the role, so it's not as if he did a poor job, just didn't nail things, imho.

Was wanting to give it like an 8 or 9/10, but I give it a 6-6.5.

The original songs were much better than the new ones. I think they were afraid to offend anyone with the songs in the new one.

Its like when they remade little rascals. It was so politically correct it wasnt funny.

Chris Rock is not politically correct and guess what? He is funny.

Wedding Crashers for best movie of the year. I don't think I've laughed that hard in a movie since Me, Myself, and Irene with Jim Carrey.
