Ok. Started WoW 2 months ago. Got a lvl 39 Warr, and just rolled a Mage for the heck of it. Now me beeing at work I cant post this question on the WoW forums so I turn to you guys instead.

What the h*ll is the freaking wand for? :D I have a staff which I attack with, If I unequip my staff and try to use my wand it just attacks unarmed. And If I got it right Wands are supposed to be ranged right?

SO could anyone please point out to me what i'm doing wrong since I cant use the wand.

wands are ranged, yeah.

but remember, there are 2 different attack buttons, a ranged attack and melee.

u gotta drag the ranged attack button into ur toolbar.

then you'll start shooting stuff

actually you need to have the wand equipped and then drag the "Shoot" command down to your skill bar

Is the "Shoot attack" Autoattack or do I need to click on it ever time I want to attack?

I believe you have to click on it every time, but I haven't played wow in a few months so I don't remember too much.

Wands are now auto-shoot. You just need the "shoot" button on your command bar.

Wands are autoshoot now but at the same time way less useful. You have to jump or move to interrupt the auto shoot so you can cast, and you can't swing melee and shoot once in a while. The main use of autoshoot now is to regen mana when someone else is tanking, especially if you have a pally with judgement of wisdom on the enemy.
