Just ripped off a BUG sticking to my scalp!

I was running my hands through my head and I feel a bump on my scalp.

I rip it off and find a bug. It was attached and I had to pull it to remove.

Its dark color and kinda flat shape. about quarter inch long

What is it? should I be concerned

Edit: It was a tick. :|

Any help appreciated!

It's a scarab.

You are now infected with Scarab Flu. Unlike swine flu, this one is 100% deadly and you will be dead in 7 (seven) days. Use them well.

Also, can I have your stuff?

What do I do now????

Say goodbye to your family and friends and try to make peace with whatever deity you believe in.

Oh...and give DisgruntledVirus your stuff.

Tock.

Er, I mean, tick.
You're going to want someone to make sure the head isn't stuck in you. Maybe go to the doctor.

Probably not the first head he's had stuck in him.

Since it was on your head originally and you can't see there now, you need someone to examine where it was. Your description sounds like it was well attached, and by pulling it off forcibly you may have left the head still embedded in your scalp. Someone competent (maybe a doctor or nurse) should look closely and help remove any bug parts still stuck there.

Since you already flushed it there's no way to test it for Lyme disease.

Was it big or small? The smaller deer ticks are the carriers of LD (I think?) but it's hard to say how long it'd been there, could be filled up w/ your blood.

Call your doc, I think there's a shot for LD before the onset of it. Also, the head might be stuck in there still. NEVER pull it off in the future, use a match to make it move backwards out of your head and let go.

or light a match and blow it out and quickly place the hot tip where you think the tick was.

repeat if necessary.
