Just returned all our soda pop cans...

For the mathematically challenged, that's 912 cans and bottles.

And we forgot that my truck's toolbox is also full, so it was probably actually over 1,000... lol

:Q

Probably been like 8 months since we last turned them in.

Hmm.. Elaborate?

Seems like it would be the same for pretty much all metals.

What about plastics and paper? It couldn't possibly use more resources to recycle them than to make them from "scratch"?

LOL......

Soda, pop.. both work.. I don't really care.

But calling everything Coke is just wrong.

According to that thread full of useless information - the average person drinks 600 soda's a year.

Jesus! I don't think I could drink 600 sodas in 10 years!!!

Ugh. Something was up with their machines and the Mt. Dew cans. It rejected like half of them total.. you had to keep grabbing them out of the reject slot and re-try..

Probably 30% Barqs(me), 25% Mt. Dew(me), 20% Diet Coke(Girlfriend) and 20% Dr. Pepper(Dad.. gives us his bottles).. 5% misc.

heh.

I actually thought about this that if you did this on the side you could make some pretty good money with little effort... problem is you have to live in one of the 5 or so states listed on the top of the can that does a 5 or 10 cent refund per can... here you can only make like 2 cents a can or less

It is quite the lucrative business for homless people, indeed.

When I was like 6, I made 60$ collecting cans all summer once.. and we were out in the boonies!

It helped that there was a little makeshift campground near our house that was always populated... tons of beer containers would always be left there, lol.

It was a lot back then ... lol

Yeah when you think about it, it could possibly be some nice gas money.

When I was a little older, my friends and I used to go around knocking on peoples doors, politely asking if they had any cans that we could recycle for them.

I don't remember how much we pulled in, but it was definitely worth it...

It's pretty much only worth it for homless people to activly collect cans, though. It is time consuming, unless you want to dig in the trash.
