Just received a new Dell 1905FP. What a disappointment...

Well, I paid $230 for mine from Dell last week. It has no dead pixels, arrived in two days, has no ghosting, and uses a Samsung panel. Feel free to bash all you want, but I am happy.....🙂

I paid $250 last week (with taxes) that's why it pains me to return it. I wish there was a way to swap it.

You are using DVI right? If not, USE DVI!!! If you must use DSUB, have to tried pressing the autoconfig button?

fvck, i just ordered one. what exactly is ghosting anyway? i play cs sometimes, but i guess i can play it on the other monitor?

I have no problem at all with this monitor. I play CoD and HL2. Then again I'm not all that picky I guess since I use it for other things more than gaming.

Maybe you'll be lucky and get a Samsung panel. Ghosting is smearing of colors in the moving picture, like a fast paced game or video.

I have the Samsung 1905FP and it still ghosts. It just depends on how sensitive a person is to the ghosting.

People will complain about anything man. It's just a matter of personal preference. My icons are fine.

I said nothing about icons, don't know where that came from. I just tried playing aBF😀C for few minutes and within a minute or two all I was seeing was a blur and it really did hurt my eyes, took me couple of minutes to recover.

yea i wasnt too impressed with it either. bought my gf the 19" one for last christmas. maybe im just not used to LCDs...but everything was too bright and too crisp. i like the softness of my 21" dell crt.

Turn on Cleartype font smoothing.

I have a 1905 with a samsung screen and the ghosting is horrible, so it doesn't really seem to matter. UT is pretty much unplayable. I've played UT on a 17" Planar and it was infinitely better.

Email Dell. I've heard of people going through eight or more monitors (2005fpw) to get one that they liked. They're pretty good about exchanges.

I've thought about it. To be honest I do not feel right complaining to them about perfectly good monitor. It's just not suitable for gaming, I don't think it's a good enough reason to demand a replacement.
