Just ran a stoplight

Four way stop, four stop lights. I was turning left, so I can go on a dedicated or a green after yielding. Except that green never came. There were cars in every lane waiting.
We were all there just waiting for a long time. So I thought that because we had this ice storm thing last night perhaps the lights were out. It happens from time to time, and they all turn red and stay red. I waited a while longer. No one was going.
So I turned. About 1/2 a mile down the road I see one of the lights turn green.
There are cameras at those stop lights. Ugh.

isnt it true that if u cover ur face with either the sun visor or ur hand, they cant give u a ticket because they cant prove it's you driving?

that's one of the loopholes i heard with cameras.

I think in some states the owner of the vehicle is responsible for it at all times, except if it's reported stolen however. This is how the cameras take a picture of your plate and mail you a ticket regardless of who was driving it.

I think they used that on a Law & Order SVU, LOL

Do those things record all day?
Do they have someone go through all the footage of all the cameras all day? How does that work?

Probably triggered by motion sensors/magnetics.

Then wouldn't any motion trigger the camera to take pictures? All day?
Or do the cameras merely take picture from 0-5 seconds after the light turns red?

probably depends on jurisdiction

but its true in atleast 1 place. a guy used to wear a gorilla masks and intentionally run red lights to mess with the cops.

after a while doing this, the cops did a stake-out to catch him

No, The owner of the vehicle is responsible for the vehicle, so you will recieve a no demerit ticket in the mail.

The way they usually work, depending on your area, is they have for example 15 camera boxes, and 8 cameras. So they just Cycle them around.

The cameras turn on as soon as the light turns red, so any movement through the light will be caught as a shot.

Also, someone explain to me, if the camera takes a picture of the REAR of your car, how would it EVER get a picture of your face. This is pure bullshit.....

Multiple cameras and angles.

Also, I was under the impression for them to give you a ticket that put points on your license, they'd have to take a picture of your face or otherwise identify the person driving the vehicle.
