The whole screen scrambled up into little 1" squares. I returned to windows, and it was the same thing. The only solution was to restart the pc.

When I returned to the game, it only loaded up in a little 4:3 box in the center of the screen.
Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

My video card is a 9800pro (MSI green version)

Does your old monitor/lcd do the same? This would help indicate if this is a vid card issue or (most likely) need to reset the settings on the LCD

Thanks for the quick response.

My old monitor was a Samsung 955df, and, no, it didn't do the same thing.

Oops, but I do recall trying to change the video card settings to get rid of the grainy texture in the game, but I do not remember the old settings.

I'm using the Omega 2.6.05a drivers.

Windows is set in 1680x1050, and the game is in 1280x1024.
I also tried setting windows to 1280x1024 to match the game.
I tried setting the game in 800x600 as well.

maybe you need to tell the OSD to do a crappy stretch to fill the sides

Are you OCing the card? I'm asking because most people who use the Omega Drivers tend to OC as well. The higher resolution of the new panel might be working the card harder and producing more heat. If your card is already clocked to close to its thermal ceiling, then it is possible that running at higher res on the new panel might be pushing the termperature to the point where you start seeing some corruption.

Either that, or you card has some sort of DVI issue that has always been there but you never knew about before because you were running you CRT off of the VGA port (or the analog part of the DVI port with an adapter).

Not sure if either of these are correct, but I just wanted to throw out some ideas that might be helpful.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking. The card has never scrambled like that before. And, no, I don't overclock my card. Would you recommend that I underclock the card? Lower resolutions don't look crisp, and it kind of negates the reason of getting a larger monitor.
