Nothing special really, see lots of really similar systems come through here every day:

A64 3200+ Winchester with DFI Ultra-D Motherboard (Monarch Computers - combo) $350 shipped

Leadtek PX6600 GT GeForce video card (Zipzoomfly) $199 shipped

1GB Corsair Value Ram 2x512MB (Zipzoomfly) $138 shipped

Seasonic Super Tornado 400W PSU (Directron) $85 shipped

Coolermaster Centurion 5 Case - no PSU (SVC) $64 shipped

Total $835

The Monarch combo comes with Far Cry and Half Life 2 download coupon and Napster freebie.

What struck me when all was said and done was not the things or their prices, but for the first time, NEWEGG does not show up on my vendor list. I was going to order the Doom3 Leadtek from them, but it was OOS, and so was the Seasonic PSU. With no ETA for either of these items, I went elsewhere and only paid about $3 more shipped! It was tough to find any product that Newegg had a better shipped price on. ZZF usually beats them now.

Newegg needs to come through again to keep my business!!!

A+ for the setup. I would be hard pressed to make a better one than that for that price point.

Love the setup :)

The only thing I might have changed is the PSU, no personal experience with Seasonic, so I'd probably have gone with Fortron/Source.

Well, seasonic is as highly regarded as Fortron in most reviews/forums. I wanted a silent PSU and they are about as silent as it gets. I have both Fortron and Antec in other systems though.

I'm looking at ZipZoomFly as well. I've been pricing my new system on NewEgg, ZipZoomFly, and Monarch and so far ZZF is the cheapest and has everything I want in stock.

Yes, I'm hearing this more and more now...and experiencing it too (obviously). Newegg has a little tarnish on their armor these days. I know their customer service is great, but that goes for a few other etailers too, ZZF, Directron, MWave and SVC to name some.

I guess in the end, we are talking about a few dollars in a few hundred dollar bucket, but $20 is still $20 where I come from...

I used Newegg and Monarch for my system. I should have just bought everything from Newegg. Then I wouldn't have had to deal with all that Monarch crap.

Cool, I thought it was just me who was noticing that other companies have what Newegg has, and for less.

I've been doing some light comparison shopping for the stuff I've been purchasing for my computer; so far, ZZF has been the cheapest or has been close enough to the cheapest that I went with them as opposed to some unknown e-store.

Newegg needs to step their game up. I used to check their site first. Now they're third or fourth (behind ZZF, Pricegrabber, and sometimes Froogle).

No, I just had a problem trying to RMA my CPU/MB combo back to them. I had to send my CPU to AMD instead.
I do advise against paying the for the thermal paste option though. That is a scam straight up. They put the paste on for you, but then they keep the rest of the tube. So basically you pay $14 for 1 drop of paste.

ZZF has made major headway recently. Looks like they took all those complaints from the last couple years seriously. They're up and coming.

The Egg is still my #1 though.

I opted out of that...got a new tube of AS5 sitting on my desk, or I may just use the retail solution.

I had to drop Newegg when they started charging sales tax to my state.

Yeah, that was the real diciding factor for me too living in NJ. The kicker was that they were still shipping most of their items from their warehouse in California which really ticked me off.

My latest order came primarily from ZZF (Mobo/Proc) and ChiefValue (PSU, HD, DVD/RW, RAM) - the latter is apparently a rebranded Newegg. Most of the pricing on ChiefValue was a little less than Newegg, even if only a dollar or two.

I just ordered my PC and some parts for another, and the only reason I ordered at newegg, was because zzf doesn't carry epox, the Antec P160 windowed version, and they wanted to charge my $98 to ship my case, and newegg had some other parts that were cheaper even paying for shipping. So I spent ~400 at newegg and ~1100 at zzf.

It was my first order with zzf, hopefully they ship in a decent amount of time so as to not tarnish their blank slate.

Good choice. I used AS on my CPU and that was why they voided the warranty on my CPU and initially on my MB. That was just last month, but after I started a thread here on AT, they decided to change their policy on AS. I have confirmed that this policy is now changed (check out Monarch Forums support section), so use AS with no warranty worries.

^ you can get the same thing from zzf w/free 2nd day shipping for 337.95, but being a "combo" it comes already together, so if that is worth it, go for it.

I ordered my
A64 3000
Chaintech NF4Ultra
6600gt
All from newegg for $475 from the egg. I almost ordered from Monarch but the amount of problems that i have read from other people prevented me. I own the games that i want, i would have only sold them on the FS&T forums anyway.
