I spent 7 hours playing 2 campaign missions and 1 skirmish.

I have pages and pages of thermo hw to read/do... Uh oh.. Screwed.

Well about the game...

I think its freaking slow or I'm just newb. Then again Total Annihilation was a slow game. You can't pull the same shizzle in starcraft, and it's not as formulaic as Starcraft/Warcraft. There's a lot more combos you can try.

Campaigns made me think level 2 crap was invincible. In skirmish, I had multiple level 2 items stacked in my front line with a barrier. I had virtually no tanks and I had 1 nuke silo when the computer attacked me with a super unit. Somehow the super unit feels the need to clear the barriers first which are cheap as hell and fast to construct. I beat it by building multiple barrier layers while my guns fired for minutes. The truth is I tried something like 10 times to beat the super unit. I had only 1 nuke so I didnt want to waste my precious nuke. If I didnt barrier up, the unit would run over 20 of my heavy laser towers, it would cream my artillery units and wipe out something like 40 heavy tanks before I could bring in naval power combined with tanks to bring it down....

I somehow won by simply driving artillery into the enemy base. I think it's overpowered. You can't win with only SIege Tanks in starcraft. I find it weird how the artillery units in Supreme Commander can wreak so much havoc. I pretty much won through bombardment with my destroyers and artillery. I never really got into much close combat...

all in all.. awesome game.. too bad my 7800gt can't handle it ><

I don't think Total Annihilation was a slow game... it was about the same speed as starcraft/wearcraft

RIP Cavedog

Supreme Commander sounds interesting, I may have to give it a try

I was thinking it looked like it would be a good game from reading previews. Then the demo came out, and I can't remember what at the moment, but something made me decide it was worthless. Not that I'd have been able to play it anyway, because I suck.

I had tested with the Beta of SC for several months even before it went public. The game is slower paced, but that is not to say it cannot end quickly. While in my experience, most 2v2 matches last for more than two hours, it is not impossible nor unreasonable to have a player eliminated within 30 minutes in that same round.

Super units are such a nice concept in my opinion. Yes, they will walk right through your barrage of defenses and your army. Super units are meant to be used with support of large amounts of forces. You are supposed to retaliate in kind with a similar setup if you wish to be able to stop it. However, in some ridiculous games, players sometimes build 20-30 super units and just use an army of them to dominate.

Those of you judging this game as bad: I am the biggest C&C fanboy anyone has ever seen. I have never played Total Annihilation before. After playing this game for a while and watching it improve and get more and more balanced, I must say that the entire time, I was having a hard time deciding if I was looking forward to this game more or C&C 3 more. I have not even tried the demo, but if so many people are disliking it, it is probably not a good representation. Playing the beta with people was such a blast. If the demo only allows you to play against a computer, I recommend not making any judgments until you play against a real person. There are so many nice strategies and things one can do that can completely turn the tide of the battle in an instant.

I am greatly looking forward to both this game and C&C 3. I consider it on par in terms of quality and entertainment as what I have come to expect from Command and Conquer. I suggest others give it a chance. It is a very good game.

The environment looks bland, but that's expected because of the sheer scale of the battles.
