I installed it again about a month ago. What surprised me was all the "Get so-and-so naked!" maps.

Was anyone else really disappointed with WC3? I really cant stand that game.

I never really got into the basic games, in fact they're kinda lame - its the custom maps where WC3 shines.

I don't know if you've tried them, you probably have but if not that's pretty much the only good thing about the game.

I tried the custom games, but mostly all of them werent really RTS type games. I had a hard time finding online games where you actually built a base and battled it out. I had some fun with the hero type wars, but got bored of it quick.

Guess I cant really complain, its not like Blizzard controls the type of games you play. But I will say I find the graphics really annoying, along with WoW.

Yes, I hate WC3. The graphics are awful, for one. What's the point of upgrading to a nifty 3D engine if all you can make are ugly cartoony crap for it? The Battle.Net system downgraded in some respects to Starcraft as well... it hangs more frequently for longer periods of time when you join a bad server, and it's too flooded. All anyone plays anymore is DOTA these days and I'm sick of that game. It's always been on the unstable side of things as well, which is odd for a company like Blizzard which is known for it's polish.

Ladder has died down a lot in the past year. There are times where I set the game to accept virtually any ladder map I please and it still takes a minute to find one on occasion. I dunno whether it's a matter purely of inactivity or also server problems, but it sucks.

I lost my brood wars cd gah. I know there's no key needed for brood wars so I'm going to burn a copy of my buddies or something now.

On another note, I have my SC CD, but I lost the case so the key is gone---but I've had the key for it memorized 1998 so it's all good

The server is designed to pair you up against a person with a relatevly same ELL %. Once you start getting higher and higher its harder to find games. Blizzard did this on purpose to avoid abuse of ladder. But there is still abuse (IE: lose first couple games on purpose and you will be matched up with a Newbie for the next 10).

Blizzard still supports Warcraft3. There is tourneys ever week. I still play war3, sure i wait couple mins for a game but its still fun.

Now if only they would release a new patch....
