just played starcraft for the first time in YEARS...

i must say...the graphics were awesome at its time (for an rts) and the gameplay was great. interesting story as well. lol...i havent even seen the game loading menu when you start up the game yet. haha my comp must be too fast for it.

of course everyone calls me a no0b, but hey, everyone was once. so many idiots on battle net though.

why did i install it? my 6600GT is under rma so im stuck using a 3dfx voodoo3 16MB pci card...so i have only these kinds of games to play.

and, i've said it before, i'll say it again. the only way blizzard could improve on that game (SC2 perhaps?) is tighten up the graphics, zoom out the camera a little, and add 2-3 more races.

I couldn't possibly care less if the storyline doesn't allow for new races

If those things came to pass... life as I know it would cease to exist, and I would begin my new life of starcraft.

starcraft is awesome I just reinstalled it last month and was playing it for awhile but missed wc3 hero systems and unique maps, so this month I'm back into wc3 - I played beta back in the day and got it the day it came out, I used to love playing zone control and other types of maps

well this month I reinstalled it and the variety of maps is insane, they are freaking awesome too. I decided to get the expansion for like $19 last week and have been playing that, the maps are simply awesome now a days, much more varied than when it came out ... and I thought they were awesome back then.

I love Hero Line Wars (ROC), DOTA too(it has really come a long way since the first maps) There are also some cool WoW maps - there is a Molten Core map with real WoW models and stuff.

I installed it again about a month ago. What surprised me was all the "Get so-and-so naked!" maps.

Was anyone else really disappointed with WC3? I really cant stand that game.

I never really got into the basic games, in fact they're kinda lame - its the custom maps where WC3 shines.

I don't know if you've tried them, you probably have but if not that's pretty much the only good thing about the game.
