This game makes my 6800GT drool...

One thing I am really impressed is the use of motion blur is the best execution I ever seen.

On many game systems and even the PC, motion blur sometimes looks streaky and overly blurry, the 360's effect here is done almost like the CG production quality.

I am totally blown away by the graphics, art, and animation itself. Nothing like it on any console or expensive PC rigs.

The potential is there but I do spot a problem. It seems that the water is rather liquid mercury. It should support SM3 and so the water should be transparent and reflective instead of just reflective.

alos wonder if we will ever have lifelike skin and hair. it seems sorta plasticky to me even though the shirt looks pretty convincing in pic 2.

It is transparent from certain angles.

Water images

The transparency is harder to see with these images but you can see thru water, I think the creators chose the more anime-ish art.

We need subsurface scattering. I think thats what differentiates realistic skin from plastic skin, I think the ATI Ruby Demo is a great example of this, since it uses subsurface scattering (or at least fakes it) to make the skin look more realistic.

Looks pretty good. As mentioned by mwmorph, I also think the characters look like dolls. Team Ninja is ok but the the Soul Calibur team and the people that make Tekken are better artists IMO. The DOA series has very generic looking characters.

Notice the environment is non-reactive... the water doesnt ripple out like in FEAR...

Looks quite nice! I can't wait until this time next year when developers are more familiar with the xbox360 hardware. I'll be picking this game up.

I'm not too impressed considering the hardware it's running on. It could look much better. Sure, the graphincs are nice and smooth (like the characters) and motion blur is cool, but its totally missing that "wow" factor for me.

I think the intention of Team Ninja is to reproduce "Anime" looking characters.

I think they did a fine job here using "anime" color and design schemes.

The plastic-ness of the skin color is intentional.

I agree. I was expecting much from this system. I am an Xbox fan, but at this point I am waiting to see what PS3 has to offer.

Namco has 2 different teams, the Tekken team and SC are not the same team. I like SC designs, they are somewhat close to Comic book like look but more Japanese, Tekken is closer to the Western Comic book drawings and less Japanese.

Team Ninja does straight Japan Anime look, which is why whenever DOA titles are launched, Japanese fans line up for DOA but they don't line up for Tekken nor SC.

BTW, the new DOA4 has excellent gameplay.

Fairly impressive. I expect that's what some of our upcoming PC games this year will look like.

Big eye small mouth anime is for fools who have no skill and no sense of anatomy =)

What are you talking about? There are no jaggies, you just have the picture resized to fit your browser window.

Don't worry about compgeek... Seems as though he can't pass by a 360 thread without jumping in to bash it. (Even if he can't figure out the Automatic Image Resizing option. :p )

PS3 FTW..!

Although I'm never going to purchase a 360, I look forward to what Halo 3 has to offer =0 Is budget even an issue with that game?

You mean as in a budget for the development team? Although EVERYTHING has a budget and a timeline... I imagine they have the green light to do whatever they want as long as it's done incredibly well.

Jaggies? You sure you clicked the little magnifying glass on the picture? It resizes it. :)

The High-Definition trailer on 1-Up looked very good aswell.
