I dunno, doesn't look much better than the past DOA games aside from the resolution. The characters still look plastic and non-human.

So far the only game with good graphics on that system is the new Midnight Club Racing game. I refuse to spend that kind of cash for a system that only has one game that interests me. I thought I would want an Xbox but I find myself waiting for the new Nintendo coming out.

alos wonder if we will ever have lifelike skin and hair. it seems sorta plasticky to me even though the shirt looks pretty convincing in pic 2.

We need subsurface scattering. I think thats what differentiates realistic skin from plastic skin, I think the ATI Ruby Demo is a great example of this, since it uses subsurface scattering (or at least fakes it) to make the skin look more realistic.

I don't think the dev. are nessicerally going for the realistic flesh look, more of an anime look as the OP stated.

Give it time, these are still first gen 360 games. Compare some of the Xbox release titles to stuff that they are developing for it now. Big difference, even compare some of its older games like Riddick to its release titles like halo, Riddick and Halo 1 are night and day graphics wise considering they are the same system.

+1 For Microsoft.

Like the jaggies all over #2's hair....

Jaggies? You sure you clicked the little magnifying glass on the picture? It resizes it. :)

The High-Definition trailer on 1-Up looked very good aswell.

Yea I only see jaggies when its small, when I veiw it actual size it looks...!

There really isn't that huge of a difference. The DoA:U pictures aren't that great that you've shown, I have the game and there are some parts that are just breathtaking and awesome.

I've played DOA:U... And I'm going to have to vote for a trip to the optomitrist for you, as well. ;)

In the trailer I saw, which was quite a while ago, there was a problem with Kokoro's (the chick in the kimono) hair moving through her shoulders as she practices her moves. Does anyone know if they fixed that in post production?

I haven't played DOA4 and games like that tend to look better in-game, so I might pick it up when I get a 360. Ironically, I already visited the optometrist 3 days ago ;).

The water does not move :S that makes it horrible looking IMO, still FEAR has the best water ever.
Also the characters look make of wax, not good. I was expecting more for the Xbox360....

I think the intention of Team Ninja is to reproduce "Hentai" looking characters.

I think they did a fine job here using "anime" color and design schemes.

The plastic-ness of the skin color is intentional.

BF2's water looks really good from high up in a chopper, or in a boat....but it does suck when you get too close..its really pixelated.

FEAR didnt have an abundance of water...just the odd patch, and i didnt think it was too real looking. theres water on one part that does actually look like mercury. but at least it moves realistcally

HL2/Lost coasts water still wins it for me. its really well done, as too is Farcry's water considering its only PS1.1

If the characters looked real on doa:4 the politicians and parents would be prettty pissed off to see timmy watching thoughs lifelike boobies bounce I would think, hehe.

Also im looking forward to the ps3 to but not gonna hold my breath since the visuals aren't going to be that much more advanced. We havent seen any gameplay just
videos that look mostly like there pre-renders. I like a lot of ps games so thats mostly why I like the ps3 not because I think there going to have visuals 10x better.

I'm just going to make this statement:

Never buy a console until the graphics look better than the PC.

Call Of Duty 2 and Need For Speed: Most Wanted are twice as good on the PC compared to the 360. As for Dead Or Alive 4...I'd like to see that come out for PC since it looks pretty promising on the 360.

It'll never happen. Fighting games are just a no go on pc's which is too bad as I think DOA, Virtua Fighter 4..etc would be awesome on pc.

In fact, the upcoming Virtua Fighter 5 is done on Sega's new high end pc hardware system called Lindbergh. Check it out.. its a freakin pc! Sega's Lindbergh - powers Virtua Fighter 5 and others

Since its done on pc hardware there shouldn't be too much difficulty porting it to pc. Unfortunately, fighters just dont come out on pc..even in japan. Sure, you have Guilty Gear X2 but thats really it.

I love DOA4! I haven't taken my Xbox360 on Live until I got DOA4.. I just didn't have the urge, I guess. Man, online play is something else. Read up about the matchmaking system if you don't know already.

Xbox live is really good and made my purchase much more valuable to me. PGR3 is a lot of fun to play online and when I pick up DOA4 and get decent, I'll be playing that online also. MS did a good job with Xbox live.

Is it me or do the cars in PGR3 look small? They don't seem "life-like". :disgust:

If UT2K7 is released this year I have a feeling it will smoke this :)

No. The majority of games that are released eventually come out for PC. Why buy a console when you have a gaming rig?

Because I can't play a good racer, a good platformer, a good fighting game, etc... on the PC. I can't play God of War, Resident Evil 4, etc on the PC.
The PC alone just doesn't offer the quantity nor the quality that a PC AND a 360 can. ;)

By the way, have you seen Fight Night 3 on the 360? The graphics are better than any PC game I've seen. And yes, it really does look that good!
