Oh, and if you think I'm some dumb kid, I already graduated from UCLA two years ago, and am on my way to a Masters degree.
I find it surprising that the majority of the replies to your thread are telling you to NOT buy chrome, and yet when you find yourself outnumbered you resort to calling people immature. How very eloquent of you.
Look, it's better to have us flame you semi-anonymously over the internet than have people point and laugh at you rolling your bling-bling car on the street.
And if you don't think I know what I'm talking about, when I bought my car in 1998 I put almost $10,000 in mods into the car, and it was shown at the CEC booth at SEMA in 1998, so I think I have a little bit of credit in the aesthetics department when it comes to modifying cars.
But you know what? In the end, it doesn't matter. Buy what you want. We all have our opinions, and if you want chrome, go buy it. Check out tirerack.com or discounttire.com. They have some good selections on chrome (or non-chrome wheels). Also Audiforum has a links page with wheel dealers.
Understand this: The next time you try to back up an argument with your credit score, be aware that it doesn't mean crap. The fact that you're buying a used A4 (market value $12,000 or so, right?) tells us exactly where your money lies. If you're all that rich, why used? Why not a new A4?
Good luck in the future. Please don't come to our club events.

Things that don't make sense with your post....
1. you bought the A4 in 98 in cash which I will conceed is a good idea as the interest rates were very high at the time, however in 04 you bought an IS300 also in cash? for someone getting a masters it doesn't strike me as that bright considering int rates are so low on new car purchases and the money you spent in cash could have been invested and netted you a much better return than dumping it into a high depreciation purchase such as a car. Also you mention that you spent over 10k in modifications on the 98A4, I guess a fool and his money but personally I would not be bragging about this since one sees little to no return on heavy modifications to any car unless it is a classic, this is comming from someone who knows as I have dumped more than double that into a few cars and would never consider it again, I would just hope someone going for their masters is smart enough to know that before hand, or just has enough disposable income that they wouldn't have to brag about it on an internet forum.
2. You are essentially telling this guy that he should listen to the opinion of the majority, become just another sheep and do what people here tell him to do instead of that which he wants? hey if the guy wants chrome wheels let him get his wheels and maybe if you have something constructive to add then chime in, but if you are just going to bash him for his personal taste then what is the point of wasting both yours and his time with posting? makes little sense to me but then again you have the masters so it must be the right thing to do....
3. Also I seriously think you are overdramaticising this issue as no one will ever point to his car and laugh over chrome wheels, either that or it will only be high school kids and honestly who cares what they think anyway.
4. You harp on him for being immature for posting credit scores and then you have to retaliate by putting up not only your bankroll or high dollar purchases but also your level of education? who is worse...and then as icing on the cake you tell him not to attend your club meetings? really how juvinile. Sorry but while his response was arrogant it was in defense of his personal tastes, yours is just to be an a-hole....
Just calling it like I see it.

That's very witty of you. He argues with me, and you talk trash. It reminds me of a little guy talking trash behind his bodyguard or something.

Aren't you talking trash behind a computer screen too? Isn't everyone behind a computer screen? Crap, anybody disagrees with anybody else, they'd have to be talking behind a computer screen. I find it completely inane when someone gets accused of having no balls because they're speaking on a forum. I'll share this same opinion in person as I do on the internet.
I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, though--someone wants to meet me at a Starbucks or something to have an intelligent conversation about this, I'll be more than happy to oblige. I just think it's funny that I seem to be having a conversation with bozack while wkabel's only comment was OWNED. You're right, it's pretty easy to have this convo with the protection of the internet. But it's not like I'm arguing about something controversial that could start a fight, it's just a discussion about cars.
