Really looking forward to this, its quite an upgrade from my BX-based 600 MHz P3!

DVD+R/RW drives...bleh. I'm not a huge fan. The media is really costly. You can get 100 2x DVD-R for $75. Not sure about +R/RW media exactly, but I have a few friends who are always complaining.

Yeah, I mostly bought it because they had a special deal which made it a pretty good buy. For most things I'll just burn CDs, but I could see myself transferring some old home video VHS tapes onto DVD eventually...

Yeah, any DVD burner is pretty cool. I guess I would just be burning TONS of discs for MP3s and copying movies (that I legally own, of course ), so I favor -R/RW because it's cheaper.

I still envy you because you have a DVD writer and I don't.
