Just ordered XP...anything i need to know?

just jumped on the 39.99 + shipping deal for XP PRO....anyway....im on 98 now...i am partitioned to c & d...i will format "c" and install XP...will my stuff on "d" work any more?

Umm...depends on what you have on D man. If its another OS....probably not, but if its just files and crap they you should be able to open everything up fine.

the games and programs on D will not automatically work, unless you install them into the XP operating system...im sure you know that already, but your files and everything else on that drive will be save. Unless you go NTFS on both partitions.

You might want to instal XP on D: and dual boot at first. I got XP and never use it, still prefer 98. I'll give XP another shot when the service pack comes out.

You're programs will not work as is.
You'll have to do some registry editing to get them to work

Other than that, everything else should be fine, i.e. files.

If you want your existing programs to work as-is, UPGRADE 98 to XP.
