Just ordered KT7 Raid & Duron 650

I just ordered a Abit KT7 raid, and a oem Duron 650, with a Cooler Master fan rated to 1.2ghz. What do you think it will O'C too?

All cpus are differnet, only way to find out is to try it for your self! Make just to check the temps.

BTW, nice choice on mother/cpu.

I've seen 650's go as high as 900 fairly commonly, with a bit of a voltage boost and decent cooling. Some will even break 1Ghz, but ultimately it's the luck of the draw.

So good luck 🙂

My personal experience with Durons on a KT7 (nonRAID) with a Cooler Master DP5-6H11 Heatsink/Fan:

D600 --> 900MHz
D700 --> 1083MHz

My results:

KT7-RAID
Duron 650 - week 21

Stable settings:

700@1.5v
750@1.55v
800@1.65v
850@1.75v
900@1.825v
950@1.85v - it can post and boot windows, but is far from stable
1000@1.85v - no post

check my rigs in the sig...

got my Duron 650@896, will due 900mhz, but the memory settings at this speed(pc133@149 cas2) make it much faster then @900mhz w/100mhzFSB.

@1.85 volts

I just hate seeing good chips get neglected by poor memory perfomance.. hopefully i'll be pairing this mem subsystem with a t-bird soon.. 1ghz here i come 🙂

Yesterday I picked up a 650 duron for $39 that was a "new pull" to play with on my Abit kt7-raid MB.

Use the permatex rear window defogger goop to unlock- seems to work.

Currently running at 900 mgz at 1.625 voltage.

Temps range from 98 to 103 F with an Alpha 6035 cooler.

BTW - my power supply is a Sparkle 235 watt (only) unit. I know, need 300 watts. Well i've got it in the closet - but hey, the sparkle is working great.

This cheapy little duron has met and exceeded my overclocking expectations ! 900 mgz for $39 - too bad i already had bought a duron 800- oh well, live and overclock!
