I just ordered an EPOX EP-9NPA+ with 2 1 GB sticks of OCZ Performance DDR 400. The board has 4 slots for memory and it is described as being able to support 4GB of memory so I am assuming it allows for 4 1GB sticks. I have however heard of people having problems running the their systems with 2 1GB sticks. I am just wondering if I should be worried or not. Thanks in advance for the help.

The system will run BETTER with 2 1 GB sticks instead of the 4 512 MG sticks. You might possibly run at 1T instead of 2T memory setting.

I have my Epox 9NPA Ultra for some time now. I will build an X2 system in the near future. After all the reviews and personal experience ( have had Asus, MSI etc...), I will probably buy anothe Epox 9NPA Ultra. It is really rock solid and OC extremely well.

Good to hear, I also had another noob question relating to the memory on this MB.
Why is it that on the official epox website product page for the EP-9NPA+ Ultra they state that the board "Supports single-sided or double-sided 2.5v DDR-333/400 DIMMs with dual channel architecture in 128/256/512Mb technologies"
Does this mean that it won't support dual channel architecture using 1GB memory modules? Also from what I've read it looks like the Athlon 64 processor's memory controller doesn't work well with 4 banks of memory.
In this case which is the better way of achieveing 2GB of RAM, 4x512 MB or 2x 1GB?

Sorry for the noobiness. Thanks again for the help.

2X1GB is dual channel and best for Athlon 64. I believe this has been repeatedly proven and discussed.

Do not confuse single side or double side DIMMs with dual channel memory MB support.

There is some errors in the manual of the Epox about the slots for the DIMMs. Use the same color slots NOT the 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 as indicated. The voltage 2.5 is adjustable.

How'd this work out for you? I just bought the guts for a rig based around the Epox 9NPA+Ultra and I'm ready to build it as soon as I get home. The one thing I notice is that the manual says Dual Channel is only supported in "128/256/512 mb technologies". I, like you, am planning to do dual channel with 2x1gb but am a bit concerned based on the manual's wording.
